  1. I'm ****ed off. I just took delivery of a new Yeti City two weeks ago. Not a peep from the dealers that it would be discontinued, nor that a facelift model might be out in 2016. My old car was also a Yeti, and this is the fourth new Seat/Skoda I have bought from these dealers, White Dove, in 12 years. If I had known I would definitely have waited a few months to see what developed, and then probably bought one. But I suppose short-term commission beats rewarding customer loyalty long-term. Ah well, caveat emptor.
  2. I have just changed my 1.2 TSI 105 Yeti for a new 110 city style. I am always carrying my bikes in the back and over the years had many scratches on the old plastic bumpers from getting them in and out. I am trying to avoid this on the new painted bumpers and looking to get a SS bumper protector. I have read a lot of good reviews of Rearguard's plastic protector. Has anyone got any views/experience of the new stainless steel protectors. I assume there will be no door closure issues.
  3. Last year it was the technician, this year the Service Manager. I posted in this thread as it seems to be very relevant and was told by the dealer it was an issue with the 1.2 tsi engine rather than just the Yeti model. From what I've read I can't see anyone who has had the problem fixed. I'll have a more detailed look in the Yeti forum.
  4. I've got a similar problem (a sort of whine that will be around for days, vanish for a time then come back) on my Yeti 1.2 tsi. The dealers say it is normal on these 1.2 tsi engines and comes from the waste gate, but I'm not happy with this explanation as the noise is not there all the time, but is bl***y annoying when it is. Has anyone had a successful resolution to this problem? It still has a year on the warranty so should I keep on pestering the dealers. This issue is the only one stopping me changing my car for a new model, and I don't want to get another diesel. Other than this problem I am very happy with the Yeti.
  5. I have a 2 year old Yeti 1.2 TSI with a very irritating noise that sometimes almost disappears then comes back for weeks. I have taken this up with my Skoda dealer and the technicians have explained that this is nothing to worry about and is a "characteristic" of these engines due to the need for a "loose-fitting Westgate valve" - not just the Yeti. They say they have had several complaints about this and have raised it with Skoda via a TPI (Technical Problem inform???) but so far nothing is being done about it. I would like to change to a new Yeti 1.2TSI but this noise is putting me off. Does anyone else recognise this problem on their car?
  6. If you mean WD in Cardiff then that's the dealer. Why do you ask?
  7. Hi. Totally un-mechanically minded newbie here. I have a 2013 Yeti 1.2 TSI that I am completely happy with except for one small niggle. Intermittently I get a high pitched background noise that is mainly noticeable at low revs. Not overly noisy but really annoying. When I say intermittently I mean it can be there for a few weeks then vanish for a month or more before returning. I mentioned it to the dealer at the first service and the technician said it was nothing to worry about as it was very common on this engine and was due to a valve in the turbo - it was sort of a feature of the turbo and not a fault. This doesn't sound right to me - if it's a feature why is it intermittent? Has anyone any info/experience of this? Should I go back to the dealer and ask for the noise to be fixed?
