The reason my rear windscreen washers are not working?
Colinjb replied to Colinjb's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I shall check further (Where it disappears to, etc) when I change the Inter-cooler soon. However, if it's just a drain for the battery tray.... There is no issue. My rear washer failure/lack of system pressure will be from another source. -

There was no evidence of oil build-up/dripping around there. This seems to be something of a conundrum!! Now the PCV.... Should it be venting? Where would it normally vent to? -
After taking the front bumper off for the first time at the weekend I found this random stray pipe.... Now, on the basis that it is by the washer reservoir I am putting this down as the reason my rear washer is not functioning and why the system has low pressure. However, it wasn't obvious where it should re-attached. (I had read the mounting point was just in front of the wheel arch, yet there was no obvious attachment point.) Can anyone advise?

What engine? 1.2?

Have you configured your car to run on anti-matter? Curious. Surely it will just be a matter of a sensor/gauge being incorrectly wired up as it's clearly functional.

Has the intercooler gone?
-
Well, I think I may have found out why my car is making 'blowing' noises at 2000rpm. After a Turbo failure I made the logical move of having a new one fitted, shortly after this a noise developed where under acceleration the car would sound like a hissing turbine at 2k rpm. This came on gradually and is now rather noticeable, there is also very evident black clouding from the exhaust when the hissing noise is at it's loudest..... It's getting quite annoying cleaning the carbon from the car's rear end. I had put this down to a badly fitted pipe, but checked these today and although there is a bit more play then I would expect, no evidence of oil/carbon build up or leaking. With the exception of around the intercooler. There was very evident oil and carbon splatter both around the underside of the intercooler where the line from the Turbo attaches and in the cavity behind the fog-light. Through deduction I'm therefore guessing that the intercooler is less then gas-tight, possibly damaged by Turbo debris when she went pop and has gotten worse through driving and applying pressure through it.. Does this sound reasonable? How difficult would it be to change the intercooler myself?

My conventional 25mm drop AP's are making this noise too. So it just requires some sleeve material over the spring? That is so daft.

Bit of faded sunshine type effect. She has been awkward recently. Here's the list of 'happenings.' 1. After losing another front badge I have switched her to the latest Silver badges over the old green ones. So far, not fallen off... and I think it suits the colour/wheels very nicely. 2. Turbo repaired, she went so well to begin with.... then a boost leak began. Wheezes above 1800rpm, Fuel economy is now down to 45 and she dumps unbrunt diesel from the exhaust under any kind of acceleration. On the verge of buying the bits for the turbo pipework from fleabay. Fitting it will be another matter though. 3. Suspension switched to 25mm AP's from DPM. Having seen how much she has dropped i'm glad I didn't go any lower!!! She was smooth as silk to begin with, but now the suspension is creaking at low speed. Shorter drop links were added to remove any possibility of clashing with the driveshaft, so it's not that causing it. 4. Rear bumper has been refitted. No longer looks like it's falling apart at the seem. 5. Wax on, wax off. She is asthmatic, clunky, but at the very least shiny!

This happened to me now and again, the fault was with the CAM sensor. -
Request for help/friendly Garage in Hampshire/Winchester?

As an aside.... wonder how the car would handle without the FARB. How bad would it be? haha.
