  1. I had the custom code remap and dpf off around 3 years ago, yes it's like an on off switch in work boots, but I can drive it around town fine. No problems with the clutch or flywheel
  2. Today's update..... The dealer called me and said its good news. They said the fault was wiring somewhere between dash and engine bay. They Located the problem under battery tray a wire that had corroded off. All repaired and running fine I'm told, so not a major expense. I'm not sure which wire it was but ill have a look when I get the car home, it just may help someone else with the same problem. Thanks again guys.
  3. Evening all. Ok our beloved skoda tech guy called me today and said they carnt get any comms from the car, so they will need 3 hours labour to start looking for wiring faults. So I'm just shy of 300 quid lighter with no news, nor a car that runs. I feel this is going to be expensive :(. I will post more news as I find out.
  4. I could only get comms from scanning in 1u rather than 1z chassis the codes clear but are straight back, still will only run for 2 secs. Also tried the joining of the power leads together for 10 mins, then put jump leads on another running car just to make sure there was plenty of power .......same result .......dead I've about exhausted all ideas now so booked it in to the stealers. :( Thanks for all the help guys.
  5. cool thanks..... is the ecu power relay in the ecu ?

  7. If its the gateway I changed in order to get rid of the battery drain issue for the Columbus then it's up above the glove box.? Would that be the said item?
  8. I would like to try the spare key to rule out the Immobiliser but I put it somewhere safe 6 years ago :/
  9. Yes that was fine, flat now only because I been trying all sorts of different ways of starting it
  10. Hi all I'm in need of some expert assistance again, I've just come back from a week away and the car was parked at Birmingham airport. The problem started when I went to start the car, it fired up for about 2 secs then died and refused to start after that unless I close all the doors lock and unlock and start again, then I just get the 2 secs of life. Other things noted 1 no glow pre heat light 2 no wipers 3 no dash lighting, with lights on 4 no dash indicator repeater warning (green arrows) 5 immobiliser light comes on for about 2 secs then gos out 6 if I leave the ignition on I get a flashing red brake warning with bleeps 7 carnt read any info with vcds... 8 locks and unlocks fine with fob 07 oct mk2 vrs tdi I'm now home after a long day with lots of AA peeps, any advice would be fantastic Martin
  11. Thanks for your help guys I'm pleased its hopefully sorted now, the cold start in the morning will tell. There so many folks on the net with this sort of problem I was thinking its a start of a nightmare lol Once again thank you all. Beers on me
  12. Hi guys. Well I collected the car and they told me they have moved the cam position round a little, so it was a tooth out on the timing ! Tickover is back to how it was before the belt change, still a tiny bit of smoke. Vagcom still says timing is 5deg after top dead center on tick over but the steering / torsion is now 0.6 Could someone confirm this timing on there 2.0 pd please.
  13. Just having a nose on another forum and they saying "I think it's mislabeled as steering angle for some reason under group 004" so I'm not the only idiot that carnt find it lol. It's going back in tommoz, and there going to check it, so fingers crossed. Ill let you know what the out come is.
  14. Mmmm just been out to double check, 01 engine 08 meas. blocks group 4 = rpm . Ing timing . Idle stabilisation . Steering angle It's a deff a pd buddy Am I missing something here....
  15. Hi booke, there is no torsion value in group 4 just the four sets that I've listed I'm using vcds release 12.12. So maybe steering is the new torsion ?....
  16. Hi boys and girls. i have just had the cam belt and water pump changed by a local garage, ever since then its been smokey and sometimes even misfiring on tick over, above tickover its fine just the odd puff of black smoke on gear changes no faults showing up in vag-com checked the injectors and they are all within there limits egr is clean ish i think its a tooth out because vagcom - 01 engine - block 04 806 /min RPM 4.8 °ATDC Ign. Timing 4.6°KW Idle Stabilization 2.63° Steering Angle timing seems well advanced to me ????? i think ive seen the steering angle what ever it is should be a zero or as close as poss ??? Thanks Martin
  17. Arr there is life here lol. I don't have the steering wheel controls the no issues there Just wanted to make sure it's ok with the car electrics Thank you
  18. I feel like im talking to myself lol Would this be ok in a z1 oct http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Columbus-RNS-510-MFD3-LED-H61-4024-sat-nav-navigation-Octavia-Fabia-Superb-/271021808230?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3f1a289a66#ht_5059wt_858
  19. Hi all, I'm in need of your help again, I need a mfd3 sat nav for my 07 octy, question is what one do I get. There seems different types. I understand the newer ones have dab radio as well. Tv would be cool as well but not so important. Oh and tmc data ... Sorry if its all been asked befor. Martin
  20. Evening all, been playing with the Vcds watching the air con pump load / amps to the pump / rad fan speeds, ok the air con will run when the temp is set to low eg feeding the compressor with 0.7 amps ish, when I select Eco mode compressor load / fan etc all zero off then when I turn it back to auto vcds says its running but the comp load is only 1.2n for sometimes upto 3 mins then it go's to 4.8n (blows cold) Can I assume it's the solenoid in the end of the pump not working correct (sticking etc) Oh and turned the radio off in the can gateway, did a rescan and no faults Cheeze - there is 12v feed to the ac pump with ac on and 3.7v with ac off (Eco mode) Rgs Martin
  21. But how do you put up with steamed up windows lol. Does my head in lol Can anyone get some live data on the "08 auto HVAC" showing compressor load etc, mine is saying 1.2n load at tickover. Please
  22. Hi anddenton, I must admit that I was pulling fuses to check them, Just one thing I've noticed is that when the comp was running it sounded louder than what I can remember from befor. Maybe the comp shaft has snapped . I go rescan now :p
