  1. Thanks John for the info. Currently with vwfs and envisage the new car being the same. Hope you enjoy your Kodiaq when it arrives
  2. Slightly off topic but I was just wondering if it was much hassle to extend your lease by a month? This is my 1st one due to end in Jan 18 and that's my only worry with pch come replacement time to ensure delivery time of the new car is on time but having the back up of knowing I could extend current lease for a month if need be would be reassuring
  3. Thanks for the reply Rob. Nope doesn't negative at all. I just sort of thought with having us people in contracts they would be more proactive at trying to retain our custom in the months coming up to the end of our agreements. Cheers for clarifying and it's great to read of someone who's went through the hand back experience.Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
  4. Glad to hear your hand back went smoothly and you posting your experience on here is invaluable to all us on pch. I'm just approaching the end of my 1st year of a 36 month contract. My question was when coming to the end of your 24 month term did VWFS offer you any deals to attempt to have you remain as a customer by taking out a new contact on a new vehicle or was it a case of going to your local dealer to choose your scout as any 1st time customer would do?Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  5. So in effect that's 7.5 monthly payments for the deposit plus 23 monthly payments of £199. Which if you add the 2 and average it out over 2 years is an effective cost of £253 per month. But of course it only being a 2 year deal means your shelling out another deposit for your next car a year earlier than usual. So that raises a whole different topic if pch is cost effective and still value on less than a 3 yr deal.
  6. Did they state what annual milage that was. That only works out at £8465 for 3 years motoring. With deals that tempting (assuming that's for 10k per annum milage) it really does make pcp offers expensive unless you intend to want to own the car at the end of the agreement.
  7. I may be wrong but I'd like to think a large company such as vwfs would be fairly reasonable with wear and tear within reason. On the same basis that a dealer taking a pcp car back in for trade in would be more forgiving of the odd scratch or wheel scuff I'd have though (maybe hoped lol) that vwfs would be keen to get you to sign up for a new vehicle at the end of the contract. So perhaps nailing you for every little mark would be counter productive in the long run. Time will tell I guess [emoji9]
  8. It definitely does make sense to take a lower milage and put aside some cash if your planning to exceed it. Mine is 7.2p per mile Inc vat. I took a 10k a year one as the wife drives it mostly and only lives 5 miles from work I'm not gonna exceed it by much unless something drastic changes work wise for her. Even if that did £72 per 1000 miles isn't too bad
  9. From a personal point of view I choose to go with a pch this time after running my last 2 bmws for 5 and 8 years respectively. I spent about 6 months researching between pch pcp and hp but in the end the deciding factor for me was that in 3 years time I'd prefer to have a new vehicle. So knowing that I decided the more expensive pcp wouldn't be right for me. This is my 1st lease so can't comment on how harsh the finance company will be on wear and tear when hand back comes. But i tend to look after my cars so hopefully won't be too bad. I will admit I'd be more dubious of signing a pch with some of the independent companies out there but do have a little more confidence in vwfs to be reasonably fair when it comes to assessing fair wear in line with the guidelines. My only other worry is to be able to arrange my replacement to coincide with the ending of this contract 2 and a half years time. As for the new trend towards people taking pch over pcp I think cheaper deposits and monthly rates are a factor but as long as people are making an informed choice and have no desire to own the vehicle it can be a reasonable way to run a new car on a budget. I think people's attitude to cars is getting to be similar to mobile phone contracts where the newest and latest model with the latest tech is desired. I dare say if the demand for pch continues to grow we will see manufacturers reduce their replacement and face lift cycles in the future to appease the willing customers desire for new models more regularly. What effect in a couple of years this will have on the used market I really don't know. I'd be interested to hear from any good folks on here who have previously had a pch and how they found the experience and what pitfalls they found or hidden/unexpected charges they were hit with come hand back time.
  10. I guess that's what they did but it's still a very reasonable price per month to include gap insurance which I'd budgeted around £250 extra for the 3 years cover
  11. Sounds like a great offer and at the end of the day as long as there are no hidden fees and upon return of the car they judge it on wear and tear to bvrla guidelines you really have nothing to lose and if the wife is happy too your sorted. Lol
  12. I didn't think it was included myself until 2 days before my car was due and I was signing the paperwork. A nice surprise :-) if you have found no reviews I would proceed with caution. Give it a day and hopefully someone on here will have had an experience with them to share with you.
  13. That's a fantastic deal specially on a 2 year deal. I can't say I've heard of them personally but I'm sure some of the good folks on here will have. You could always do a Google search for reviews on them. Most of the reputable finance companies have extensive reviews on trusted reviews website. Also be sure they divulge all additional fees such as arrangement fees and processing fees. They are inclusive in skoda pch as is gap insurance too
  14. What sort of rates are Jet offering? Selected Skoda main dealers have fantastic great pch deals on the vrs on 3 plus 35 from among £270 per month on a 10k per year milage.
  15. Fantastic deal for 20 K a year and good delivery time. I ordered mine on Dec 17th and had it on Jan 16th. I only added spare wheel to standard spec so it was sourced in the network. I just hope in 3 yrs time Skoda remembers to offer us all similar enticing pch deals again to take another car [emoji1]
  16. I leased my race blue vrs dsg on a 3 yr pch through belfast skoda dealer Mervyn Stewart and it beat any of the big online lease companies such as nationwide vehicle contracts or lings cars late last December. £875 deposit and £291 per month on. 10 K a year contract. Excess mileage 7.2p in vat. Tax obviously included but a nice surprise was Skoda include gap insurance too. A fantastic deal in my eyes. I don't see these deals on skoda main website they just seem to be on selected dealers mini sites for some reason.
  17. Thanks. I thought the same as you. The demo I drove had the red accents and nice as it was it just didn't suit the blue exterior imho.
  18. Definitely is mate. A luxury for me after so many years in run flat bmw wheels. Hoping I don't need the spare anytime soon though :-)
  19. Thanks. No she's standard non black pack with dsg. Just a spare wheel added to standard spec
  20. Hey Guys my 1st post on the forum but been an avid follower for a few months. Picked up my 1st Skoda yesterday. Loving the VRS and already it's proved a lot better in the snow than my 330d.
