To SE or not to SE? That is the question.
WilliamVRS897 replied to Ryan90VRS's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
If you're upgrading to bigger brakes just get everything new. Maybe carriers second hand if you're on a budget. But the price people ask for second hand calipers are pretty bad I think when you can get new/reconditioned ones for the same price -
opinions on ram air cone filters
WilliamVRS897 replied to soul snatcher24's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I know it's not exactly what you're asking, but cone filters aren't the best in my opinion. Especially when compared to a good panel filter. Cone filters sit right next to a warm engine absorbing a lot of the heat, when they run best with cold air hence FMIC's etc.. -
What did you learn to drive / ride on?

This sounds exactly like my dad lol, feels to old for a sports bike so wants a naked one.Keep telling him you're only as old as you feel haha -

My dad and his mate were forever going out on the bikes (fireblade and ninja), and he plans on getting another one soon so that is giving me a bit more motivation just to go and get it done! -
This may well be the main reason for it then! After I posted I also remembered about the 7 year warranty with Hyundai/Kia which also may be a key factor. That and they aren't all that bad to be fair!

This sounds like a lot less stress at least than having to deal with people who cannot drive at all lol

Sadly haven't got my bike license yet, although I plan on doing it soon. Raced quads all round Scotland for good few years though -

I like hearing all the old cars that people passed in from a good few years back lol I passed in 2009 with a MK6.5 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.4 which, at the time, I thought was a great car to drive. However I actually learned to drive a few years before I passed in my dad's X5 which was decent! -
Fords usually are the run of the mill learner car I've found until recently (obviously there were other common learner cars too). I seem to notice a lot of Hyundai i30's also now, don't know if there is a particular reason for that or not.. Smaller cars with smaller engines though imo are probably the best for learners to start off in. Although I still like the sound of Sharkrider's fabia
-
You're a braver man than me letting learners drive that lol
-
It is definitely a great advert for your company if you have a car that is appealing to youngsters
-
An actual learner company lol I've seen the odd Impreza hatchback version also, most likely the non turbo or the diesel version though. MK2 Fabia Monte Carlo sounds like a decent learner car too!
-
Was out on a test drive with a customer the other day, and I seen a silver MK1 Skoda Fabia VRS as a learner car lol! I have seen a few other strange learner cars in the past year or so, just wondering what some of the weirdest ones other people have seen?

Richard's mk1 Fabia thread. (Yes, I have a mk1 Fabia problem...)

Think I'd either go for Leon Cupra 20V or just the newer FR. Most likely the FR for the fuel economy lol
