  1. I've done the temp repair. It's not pretty but only does a few gentle miles a week at the moment getting my son to and from work. Drives fine but I'm now not on the island so will be fitting new subframe as soon as I'm back home from the mainland. Still not decided whether to do the conversion.
  2. By plating it. It'll not be pretty but as it will only have to last a few weeks until I get all the bits it will be fine. Especially as it will only be used a few times for short journeys. Do you have any input about the actual topic or just about my fabricating skills?
  3. The rear near side shock hanger has rusted away and broken off on my 2010 fabia estate. I'll repair as a temp measure but as I'll be replacing the whole subframe/axle I was considering getting the disc brake rather than drum brake axle, I can then put new hubs, calipers/brackets, discs, brake line and handbrake cable in.
