Hi, I got some great advice on hear a while ago about tyres and I swear by it.Had my Occy Vrs since new (2001) After using Goodyears and continentals and going through them like wild fire ,I was told about Nokian tyres, a finnish tyre. They have been absolutely superb, good grip and lasted longer then my previous tyres,I bought them from My tyres online then got them fitted at a independant tyre fitter, this worked out cheaper aswell.....just putting my 2 penneth in

Bad squeaking noise- Occy Vrs Mk1
SILENTASSASSIN replied to SILENTASSASSIN's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Thanks very much chaps for your replies. I have know found the problem, it seems that I have crushed a metal cover that protects the control arm behind the offside wheel where the plastic cover ends. I had to use a little brute strength to bend it back to position and stop the metal rubbing with metal. I do know it's the last time I am going to park on the kurb. . So thanks alot chaps:thumbup: -
I bought it as a WRC COPY,from a company in Poland via ebay, then sprayed it up myself. Cheers for your comments:thumbup: Its similar to one in the Milotec catalogue

Yesterday I had to park my car on top of a kerbed area, due to seriously lack of parking when taken my son to play an away footy match. At the end of the match trying to get off the kurb my offside front wheel slipped off the kerb with a thud! When I got home I had a check out and couldn't find nowt wrong APART FROM SCUFFED PLASTIC COVER ON UNDERSIDE OF CAR. Today I have noticed a terrible annoying squeaking sound from offside front of my car,but only when I break or turn which puts pressure on my front suspension. Anyone any ideas of what it can be? Would be most grateful for any suggestions Cheers .

Hi ,yeh it might help, took my Vrs in fot its 50k service and toothbelt change, the next thing I'm told there was a delay and was given a courtesy car. 2 days on I'M told that they received a faulty part (some kind a tension cog I think),which was put on and then tried ,which obviously failed and they said they had to inspect inside the cylinder head to see if there was any damage inside , following that the inspection revealed that 2 or 4 of my valves were bent(at this point my **** fell out) .Which I am now waiting to be repaired. I am now worried that it won't perform like before . -
HAS any of you had a problem with main dealer, when having toothed cambelt change. Coz I'M HAVING A LIVING NIGHTMARE!
