  1. I drive a Skoda Octavia 2004 1.9tdi Typical VAG key. Never had any problems with my remote central locking until i starting using the middle button to open the boot. Now the remote will not unlock the doors and the red light on the door stays lit for 30 seconds. All other buttons are still working ie: lock button & boot button but not the unlock button. Anyone know how to reset or fix the central locking? Thanks in advance.

  4. You are making me worried lads. My car is a 2004 Octavia with no DPF, the fan works fine with the engine running, the relay only cuts the power after the engine is turned off. Surely the engine should cool naturally then, and dont forget i live in northern ireland, it's always freezing!
  5. Sorry for the late update, an auto electrician installed a relay switch so that the radiator fan will only operate when the engine is running. It seem to be working perfectly since. Quick & easy job.
  6. Just an update about the radiator fan problem i was having. The Temp sensor looked dry & I decided against replacing the costly control module. My auto electrician is planning to install a relay switch which makes the fan only able to come on when engine is running. Will let you know if it works.
  7. Thanks for the info, I plan to get it fixed so I contacted a auto electrician who tells me I may need either a temp sensor or control module. Will update when i have it repaired
  8. I have had no problems since i took the fuse out. Is it ok to disable the fans permanently, I live in N Ireland, it's always cold here!
  9. yeah the Leon has one & I have constant problems with it. Not sure what is causing this problem with the Octavia, plenty of other threads on here about fans staying on, hopefully nothing too serious.
  10. I put the fuse back in & fan has stayed off but I have got the feeling this won't be end of it. Will watch it closely over the next few days & take it from there. Thanks lads
  11. Just noticing that, sorry. This is new to me. I take it there's no dpf in a '04 Octavia. Looks like i have a problem...
  12. Engine seemed cool, that's whats worrying me. I am tempted to put the fuse back in to see if the fans come on again
  13. Let me get this straight, so the fan is going because the car is in the middle of a regen? So just wait for the fan to stop by itself? How long would this take normally because my fan was still in full flight about 15 minutes after the ignition was turned off? I took out the fuse incase it drained the battery
