  1. Yeah new BCM needed, I've made the change to FL LED tail lights on my estate. Langers2k was very helpful in swapping the BCM and coding up correctly - been running a couple of years without issue now.
  2. Looking forward to seeing it all come together, some serious work that's gone into that car!
  3. Find a good independent, it's usually the cooler for the EGR that goes which is about £300 for the part, and about £300 labour outside of the dealer network
  4. I am right in thinking that you took apart the gearbox yourself? I'm impressed at the scale of the work being undertaken here!
  5. Pedals are easy, can buy a replacement set with a metal 'sport' finish. Clutch and brake will come off after a short soak in hot water (or can cut the bit of rubber holding them in place), new ones just push in place. Accererator can be removed either with a special tool, or two flat head screwdrivers into the base, unplug, then reverse process to fit the new pedal. Steering wheels will work, but need compatible multi-function buttons to talk to the rest of the car - a search on the forum here will provide further details
  6. How do you find the flat bottomed wheel in comparison to the original wheel you had on? Ideally I'd like one of those as well, but they always seem to be a lot more expensive than the normal round ones!
  7. Last two links aren't public :( Brave undertaking though, look forward to seeing this come together!
  8. I had the wiring go in my 2011 Superb, fixed with a new harness, but got a VW specialist to replace
  9. Is it because they're too flexible? (Not being able to tell that from the pictures) I've got the Skoda ones on mine which as stiff plastic; don't stop muck down the sides and back, but do reduce it enough to make a difference when cleaning
  10. From previous discussions on here... There is a Varta with the same spec as the S5 Bosch; it's the same battery with a different label and a fair bit cheaper!
  11. I've got halogen; but the fog light unit is the same between cars with and without xenons Other counties have DRL on at the back, but not the UK by default for most cars (Volvo might be an exception there) There are various online retailers for car bulbs and all seem to stock xenon bulbs
  12. Are the rear lights on as DRL as well? MY 2011 onwards Superbs (and I believe all estates) have a DRL bulb and a fog bulb in the lower lighting (like silver's picture above) Previously they only had a fog bulb in that enclosure. I agree with silver, it sounds like someone has changed some settings with VCDS so the car isn't using the lighting in the 'factory' configuration The bulbs aren't cheap for xenons, but not £200 (just a nice dealer markup there )
  13. Interesting; risk of buying online from another country! Thanks for confirming on that; it's good to know (and makes sense that everything else worked fine!)
  14. The part listed is the BCM, with the revision after it; generally the SW (software) and HW (hardware) revisions will match (unless HW has been flashed with a more recently SW) Just to note, it is possible to fit too newer of a module: We originally fitted an AA module which had been flashed to AF and this worked - except it reduced the remote central locking range down to ~3 feet This was replaced with a Q module (which both accepted the LED coding and restored normal central locking range)
  15. I've done this with langers2k's help. In short it's new light clusters; new black plastic covers and a new BCM BCM replacement would be dependent on the version you've got currently on whether it will accept the coding for the LEDs (mine is a 2011and had a K revision, had to fit a Q revision for the coding to work).
  16. Have a look here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?msa=0&mid=1Td73_uUUqscV3nRm5br_o89PmBU&ll=53.31854395941855%2C-3.0964442033202886&z=10 If any of the users have been online recently; worth dropping them a message and swinging by their place for an autoscan (https://www.briskoda.net/forums/profile/5555-jaymd/ - is possible an option). Otherwise it'll likely be difficult to help remotely for 11 faults. Bit of beer money their way will get you the autoscan that you can post here & depending on their knowledge level might be able to help diagnose and fix the issues too
  17. Would an android replacement for the Columbus work instead? Don't lose functionality; but also reduce it as a target for thieves? They've been a few threads lately reviewing different android units
  18. Nothing jumps out at me as sounding different to mine; but I'm not a mechanic What did the garage say after they'd had it overnight?
  19. Do you have a recording of the sound? Any noise I've heard from mine is probably in the same ball park as silver's - it's always done it and doesn't seem to cause harm. Thought I'd read it was something to do with the water pump; which (at least anecdotally) would make sense for mine, as the noise changed a bit after the cambelt/water pump change
  20. Pony Road are in Oxford as an independent VAG - used them before and been happy with the service Similarly Grey Gables out Witney way have been used before as well (where the car came from), nothing wrong with the service, just more £££ than Pony Road and further afield for me Not used the main Skoda dealer, either pre or post move to Kidlington
  21. The folding mirrors likely just need a reset and are unrelated. All windows down (first click on the button, not the auto down), hold, all windows up (first click up, not the auto up), hold. Windows & mirror system will be reset and mirrors should fold on a key fob press & hold
  22. From memory the earlier firmware on the Columbus units couldn't read larger SD cards; but once updated they could read up to 32GB cards. The firmware can be updated (along with the maps); a search on the forum should turn up a how to guide. Once you've found what firmware you currently have, you'll know what version you can go up to without bricking the unit.
  23. Yup independent I don't have specific part numbers I'm afraid; only what the garage had told me: Previous batch had some sort of flaw which meant they were failing soon after fitting (they had this happen to customer's cars) The main dealers were getting first priority of the new batch of parts as a back order had built up New part was a revised design compared to what was originally fitted (to my 61 plate), so should be more reliable Garage managed to source an EGR cooler from a nearby franchised VW dealer within 2 weeks luckily, so avoided a long wait
  24. I had the EGR cooler replaced last week; cooler itself was about £300 with 5 hours of labour and a few other parts (o rings, coolant etc.); total of £725 All official parts with 2 year guarantee Might be able to squeeze the price down a bit from your garage I'd check that it's the latest revision of the EGR cooler as well; there was a bad batch which had to be recalled; which caused supply issues - was originally quoted a 2-3 month wait on the part as a result
  25. Mine is a 2011 SE; and it has front wear sensors; but not rears - bought second hand so couldn't confirm is they were a standard fit or not
