  1. If he has definitely taken your number from a company database to use for his own personal use, without consent, then it is 100% a breach of the Data Protection act. Every company that handles customer or client personal data must have, by law, a data protection policy. Penalty for not doing so, and a breach of data occurring, can be quite heavy for both the company and the person responsible. Otherwise, any employee could come along, take a chunk of personal data and sell it on to someone else. Part of when you sign any sort of agreement with a company, usually one of the caveats is they can distribute your information, which is why when you give your phone number or email to some companies, you end up with more spam emails or random phone calls. Which is how companies get around Data Protection. But that does not extend to personal use by employees, which is the case here. So yes, I'd definitely take this up with the Information Commissioner's Office. Because not only is it a breach of your own data, but its through incidents like this, that larger incidents can occur.
  2. Whoops. Sorry about being late. Had a busy weekend. Tis' indeed a Skyline GT. And the Exterior.
  3. Right era. Wrong part of the world though.
  4. Lets try something a little different? How about an Interior.
  5. Is it an Italia? Was it Intermeccnica or something like that? Weird little Italian/Canadian outfit that makes a bunch of bizarre throwback cars.
  6. Sunniside here. A village in between Stanley and Gateshead.
  7. I'll pass my go on to someone else. Since I'm stuck at work.
  8. It's a mini Aston Martin Mk2. Also known as a Reliant Sabre.
  9. From what I've read around, according to Iranian news sites, their Defence Ministry is rejecting the claims. http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.aspx?nn=13940716001057 I'd find it quite worrying if it does in fact turn out to be a lie on the part of western media. It's incredibly dangerous and irresponsible, during a time in where there is a great deal of tension.
  10. I have read the thread, and yes it was mentioned previously but, has not been considered, clearly. I'm just slightly shocked that many people are adamant that winter tyres should be mandatory, without considering that many people may not have the means or resources to use them. The outlay for a full set of winter tyres, is high, and many, if not most, simply can not afford it. Regardless of the argument for or against them. It's not an options for many. I hate to prod a hornets nets, that's been stirred up enough already, but forcing people to spend several hundred pounds, in what is essentially the lead up to Christmas, an expensive time as it is, just for the sake of tyres, which depending on circumstance and context, may or may not help, especially when many struggle financially as it is, is a bit absurd. I understand that, once you have a set, you replace them no more often then you would with one set, but the fact still remains, most do not finance for the initial outlay, or due to circumstance, can't justify it.
  11. I just wondered, whether anyone had considered that a lot of people, may simply be unable to afford an entire second set of tires?
  12. Thing is with a lot of modern SUV's. A lot of the trim levels don't come with 4WD. Many are only 2WD. Take for example the Mitsubishi ASX, only the top spec version are 4WD. So you have to wonder how many SUV's that are actually on the road really have 4WD. Which negates the usual default "I can use it in all weather" argument. "B-b-b-but. I have leather seats, and dual zone climate control, and sat nav, and ooh look my phone automatically syncs and plays music, and..." All of which you could have had for cheaper, had you bought a smaller car, if that's all you really cared about. Which is why I thinks it's an image thing more than anything. Of course I don't tar everyone with that brush, just many of the people I know with SUV's or Crossovers tend to be that way.
  13. 24 here. I'm not a big fan of SUV's. Or any sort of big 4x4 for that matter really. My parents own a fleet of 4x4's and pick-ups. All Mitsubishi, mixture of Shogun's and L200's and I often drive them, which I know aren't strictly SUV's but, I'm not a fan. I can't get away with the high seating position or how the centre of gravity is. Unless I had a real need for one I wouldn't have one. There's nothing that I can imagine that a nice STi or Evo can't do that an SUV can. And I can have a lot more fun in an STi or Evo. I think the reason SUV's sell well to my generation is because of their perceived capabilities, the marketing around that, and tidy PCP packages that come with them. But I think of myself as a "driver", so a big part of why I buy a car is to have fun while driving it. But then again, most people don't really care about that, and a car is to just get you from A to B, and again that's probably why SUV's sell well because of their perceived capabilities to get you from A to B.
  14. So, it's been a while I think I best add an update to this. I've had the car now a good while and I've been trying to get it back to good working order. A few things have came up as immediate problems. The first issue was to do with the battery, and the fact it wasn't charging. Some investigation and I found an alternator looking like this. Not very pretty. The problem is, this is the same story across most of the car. It's like it's never had basic maintenance, well ever! So the knock off effect is that every other bolt is seized completely. To the point I've actually snapped two drive adapters for my ratchet. That huge pivot bolt you can see in the picture above is the biggest culprit. Regardless, I decided to plough on further. There was a fair bit of blue smoke from the exhaust, so I decided I'd dig a bit to find out where this was coming from. So began to dismantle the engine. Everything seemed fine, until I had to get the timing belt off, which led me to the fan belt on the alternator and back to that stupid pivot bolt. Which i still haven't managed to get off. I've resigned myself to having to cut this thing off. I didn't want to but well. Needs must. I am a little worried by the blue smoke. Although due to the way things are with everything else, where the car looks like basic maintenance has been ignored for a very very long time, as well as the car having been sat on the previous owners drive for a good few years. I'm hoping it's just valve stem seals, or piston rings, or maybe head gasket. Anything over and above that, then I think it's pretty much a given that I'll have to right the engine off. Although I have to admit, part of me isn't that upset about the idea. The current engine in the car is the Toyota 3S-GE. which is a solid engine. But I've been eyeing up 1MZ-FE and prices. And the prices aren't that bad! The 1MZ-FE is a V6 engine that Toyota used in the lives of the Camry and Lexus ES, and there is a good number of people who do the swap. So I don't think, if the engine is in a bad way, I will be too upset. But, I may need to have a good think. But then again it's still early days and the problem could be fairly fixable. We'll see. So here is a few snaps I got of the Engine through the dismantling process. It's not quite fully stripped, but getting there. I appreciate any input anyone has, if they have any. Also, it does seem that there was an incredible amount of foliage within the engine bay. It's anyone's guess how that got there.
  15. Wouldn't mind tagging along for the breakfast. Sounds like a good plan.
  16. It's the Fog Lights. Pretty distinctive on Mitsubishi's. I would know, my parents have a fleet of the damn things. I'm at work currently, Would someone else like to take it?
  17. Yeah it was good! Enjoyed my first meet!
  18. I'll try and get there for around 7 too.
  19. I never actually thought about YouTube. But then again, I was partly inspired to pick it up due to the Prime Delivery service, since I use Amazon a lot. So maybe there was some Dad logic in there. "Hmm, I really want cheap delivery. But I can't justify the price. Oh I'm sure my daughter would like to watch the movies and TV shows on there too. I'll get it for her..."
  20. I'm quite pleased by this. I picked up Amazon Prime a few months ago for my daughter, so she can watch kids programmes. Seemed better value you for money than Netflix, since you got Amazon Prime Delivery too. But now with the added music service and this sort of High Profile content, I've justified keeping it. Although I'm not sure about the repeats appearing on Dave, since Dave is part owned by the BBC.
  21. I think I can give this. An S12 Silvia.
