  1. Thank you both. haven't figured out how I'm going to dry out the spark plug hole yet. Not much room in there is there. Just have to keep stuffing cloth down there until its all gone i guess.
  2. Hey everyone. I was doing regular maintenance today and found when I pulled out my ignition coils on my 1.8T in order to upgrade to Iridium spark plugs. The bottom inch was covered in oil. So I am replacing the suspect, valve cover, gasket tomorrow. I would just like to know how I am to clean the oil from the ignition coils or if I should just leave them? Thank you
  3. Spoke to TPS and they only do the whole aerial? Bit of a pain. Only need the rubber. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thank you. When I get a chance I'll get to it. I'll let you know if it does the job. What silicone do you recommend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Car has been parked all day. This is what I found at 3 this afternoon. Didn't have time to investigate further. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks Paul. Will do that when I get a chance. Headliner not stained or anything but could still be the cause. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Does it simply pull off as you suggest? Guess it's just one of those double edged grommets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It's just the rear headrests appears water has dropped on to them. The sunroof is clear etc. I've checked all the usual places. Will check the tailgate struts. And c pillar welds. That sounds more like the area. I went to have a dig around earlier and I saw a drop of water on the plastic trim right at the rear of the headliner, un clipped it but couldn't see any water above it and the rubber boots where the wiring harnesses go through are fine. 9. Hi. As my title suggests. I have some water getting in, the left and right rear head rests are a bit damp. Where the parcel shelf meets the headrests is damp and the bottom of my boot in wet. No water in the spare wheel well. Is this a common problem anyone can help with please? Ben Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Is there a diagram of where this drain is? have found the sun roof drains and cleared a little bit of muck out of the end but not sure where the other ones are? Thanks
  11. Thank you. Kentphil1. I work at a garage so when I have the time Ill get it in and get a technician to do oil and filter and check replace that strainer. Thank you. The joys of working in the motor trade should not be under estimated. Ramp free whenever I want it. Cost price parts and 20 labour during work ours or free use for myself. :-) Cheers Any other common faults i should look for?
  12. What is the problem that occurs with the oil pick up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hey Everyone. I have just bought a Skoda Octavia 1.8T 4x4 on a 53' plate. Full service history ( very happy with that) for a bargain price with 6 months mot. Im thinking of upgrading the exhaust but i'm not sure on which systems will be compatible compared to standard 1.8t's because of it being the 4x4 (exhaust may run differently). Any advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated. My second question is regarding to a BOV or dump valve. I love to hear my turbo and would like to hear the BOV sound but I don't want it to be majorly loud and I dont want to be putting the EML light on as I have read happens with the golf 1.8t. Thirdly is there anything I should be keeping an eye out for on this specific model now that its about 135k on the clock. (Timing-belt was done at 120k) Other than that. Thanks for providing this wealth of information on these Forums and I look forward to getting involved. Cheers Ben Stribley 2003 Skoda Octavia 1.8T Elegance 4x4
