Got mine off ebay - it reads the ABS but nothing else Keep getting the baud rate sync error - I have tried resetting rate to 9600 and lower but still no joy Have not left feedback for seller as I do not know whether it is the cable or me - Cable made in China - it would have been useful had it stated this in Ebay add - maybe I would have thought twice - cost about £20 inc post Anyway the car is in to the local garage tomorrow to "clear the fault and turn the light off" - I hope Car runs OK - no probs - has done for miles - so maybe it is just (sensitive) emmissions Interestingly I rang the local dealer - (unfortunately a salesman picked the telephone up) - I said the EM light is on - he said - Oh you need a new "part" - £80 plus labour!!! - just makes you wonder - dose this warning light really serve any purpose? apart from VW et al and the dealers using it to put the "frighteners" up the unsuspecting motoring public

What is the list price of a solid red vehicle? presumably any dealer would offer 10% discount for no part ex Since reading this Forum I really fancy a Vrs and the secondhand prices of say a three year old vehicle seem far too high, (

So it is a matter of running the software a number of times There also seems to be other software around - I saw this on EBay, e.g. ProDiag and VAG Diagnose. Does all software use the same fault code numbers as ????? ..........or VAG COM the stuff designed by Uwe M. Ross. or is there some reference material that links the the various applications Interesting all this - do you know if there is a similar product for BMW Bikes - later models?

Another newbie question Just bought a Y reg 1.4 Fabia - 45,000 miles The shocks on the near side of the vehicle seem to be "on their way out" plus a little noisy over pot holes etc Are they easy to fit - any good mail order part suppliers around, (cheaper than the dealers). Is it best to change them in pairs - ie. both front ones etc. I have a 1.2 HTP from new with 8,000 - so I can compare the ride quality between the two vehicles Thanks

My first posting I have just bought a 1.4 Fabia - Y Reg - one owner with full dealer service history Problem - the Engine Management Light is always on. The previous owner pointed it out to me and said that it was "temperamental" and had been like that for a few years. The dealer has never sorted it out properly About once a week it also stalls "on the move" - the revs drop to zero - but within a second it is back to normal with the engine running fine Anyone any idea?
