  1. I went into Halfords and looked in the oil directory. There was a choice of two and I bought the one for my model. I thought that's all it needed.... Am I missing something?

Just echoing 'Anderson99' comment... I've used the 'tyrepal' product for around two years now and I'm really pleased with it.
  3. I've regularly transported my road bike in the back of my Yeti but I haven't used the Skoda rack. I made my own, which fits across the rear of the boot space. It has a San Remo quick-release fitting which holds the front fork (bike facing backwards). I strap the left handlebar to the side of the luggage space and strap the back wheel to one of the rear seat clips (seat removed). It's very stable and works very nicely. The Skoda rack looks like it would easily accommodate two road bikes side by side but I think it would be necessary to remove the seats, otherwise the bike(s) would be too long. I can't really comment on the difference between petrol and diesel (or indeed 4x4) but I'm sure some of our Briskodians will be able to enlighten you. I'm really happy with my 2 1/2 year-old diesel (Greenline). 41k miles and average 56 mpg....
  4. In the unlikely event that anyone else is interested; I solved the problem by accident. While the iPod is connected to the Bolero head unit (via Bluetooth) I turned up the volume to full and have had no problems since.
  5. I recently tried listening to podcasts on my iPad via bluetooth connection to the Bolero head-unit. The sound fades if the spoken podcast reaches a quiet piece. So, for example if I listen to a quiz programme and there's a pause while the contestant is thinking about the answer, the 'signal' takes a second or two to come through the speakers.... That often means I miss the answer, which is very frustrating! If I play music, it's fine... Has anyone else come across this problem?
  6. I haven't tried this but according to the Bolero manual 'You can switch the display of the Climatronic values on or off' via the Bolero Setup / System menu...
  7. Thanks Urrell; despite the (nearly) 17k miles I still haven't worked out what all the toys do! Thanks to everyone else too. Amelie, (apparently it is a female Yeti..... - I don't know why either but that's what my beloved wife says). Anyway, having checked the Maxidot whatsit, Amelie is booked in for a service towards the end of the month and I can set off for France early in September in a suitably relaxed frame of mind. That is if the Eurotunnel nonsense is sorted...... Otherwise it's Plan B (Harwich - Hook of Holland)!
  8. I bought my 2014 Outdoor 1.6 TDI CR Elegance Greenline II just over a year ago with 1,350 miles on the clock (and been very happy with her)... I'm up to just over 18k miles now and due to set off the south of France in just over a month. My question is; when should I expect the service light to come on and should I have it serviced before I go regardless? Any advice gratefully received.
  9. Anyone had experience of using the 'Tyrepal' tyre pressure monitoring device?
  10. This is my first winter in the Yeti and I was quite surprised by the amount of dirt thrown up over the tailgate and rear window... Has anyone had experience of fitting mud flaps?
  11. Thanks to all for the wide-ranging suggestions - food for thought indeed!
  12. This gets worse... After a trip to the dealer today, I was advised that the Skoda dealership can't fix it. The alternatives seem to be Buy a new unit from Skoda - at a cost of around £700 (fitted). But a new unit 'online' and have it fitted and re-coded by Skoda. Presumably such a sale would be made by someone who needs a place to keep their sandwiches more than a radio to listen to... Have a look online to find a specialist firm that can take the unit apart and remove the SD card. Does anyone know of a specialist company that can help with this? All suggestions gratefully accepted.
  13. Over the last few days I have noticed a clicking sound coming from the Bolero head unit.... Interrogation of the family members reveals that someone (who shall remain nameless) fed an SD card into the CD slot! Before I throw myself on the mercy of the dealer, does anyone know how I can get it out?
  14. I never use my glasses holder; it's pretty small and may not take some glasses/sunglasses. In any case, putting your glasses into and taking them out of the glasses holder inevitably means fingermarks on the lenses...
  15. Thanks again; that's very reassuring. I can put it on my Christmas list and see what s happen
  16. I do have an iPod Classic but I am asking Father Christmas to bring me an iPod touch... I can live in hope...
  17. Thank you 'S76' that gives the confidence I was looking for! Thanks also to everyone else for the interesting discussion and technical insight
  18. It does sound logical but my iPhone is 8gb and the iPod is 120gb of which there's around 70gb used... Hence the questions about the iPod touch connectivity...
  19. Oh dear; I should have mentioned that while I like gadgets I have absolutely no idea how anything works. Can I ask what a 'BT module' is please? I use my iphone 4 to connect via bluetooth if that is of any consequence...
  20. The problem is solv-ed (as Inspector Clouseau might have said)... Thanks to all for the various ideas and especially to Weasley for setting me right; it was the fuse (I just didn't know which one). Fuse now replaced and spare standing by until I find out which of the two gadgets caused the problem... It was either the ipod charger/aux connector, or the multi-usb connector (my money is on the latter but we'll see). Thanks again and thanks for the welcome
  21. Thanks Weasley; I saw that in the manual too and yes, the rear socket works.
  22. Before I start writing my Christmas list, does anyone have any experience of using an ipod touch paired with the stereo via bluetooth?
  23. I have been using the socket for an ipod classic aux connector/charger for around a month and then I noticed it was no longer charging the ipod... (It has worked perfectly well in other cars). At first I thought it might be the connector device but nothing else works through the socket now. I had a look at fuse 30 and it does not appear to have blown. Having said that I'm not convinced I checked the right fuse...
  24. Hello.... I'm new to the site and a relatively new Yeti owner. As a technical dunderhead, I'm looking for a bit of advice please: The front lighter socket has ceased functioning and I don't know my way around the dash fuse-board well enough to start removing fuses to check... The car is only 6 months old so I can take it back to the dealer but I thought I'd call on the wisdom of... (not sure of the collective noun for Yeti's....)
