  1. I have a full size spare (185/60/R15 tyre / steel wheel) in the back of the Spaceback with no additional boot floor.
  2. Yes I had seen listings on a well known auction site for V9, understandably more in cost than V8. I will probably wait a few months to see whether the price for V9 falls a little before purchasing.
  3. Just remember to use a container large enough to capture the old oil :D!
  4. From memory the quote for the warranty was slightly higher than that of chrisgreen (presumably because of the diesel engine). With the car still being relatively young (on 25k) I remain optimistic that there won't be any major failure with the components. There's obviously an element of the unknown in deciding to take this option or not. Evidently I'll be either happier or not with the decision made in 12 months time! Incidentally I have taken out both a manufacturers extended warranty in the past (which also included breakdown cover) & was used twice and a well known insurance backed warranty (when you could pay one lump sum rather than a monthly amount), which was transferred unused to the new owner when the car was sold on. There is no right or wrong, it's what you feel comfortable in doing, plus whether you have the potential funds for any repair that may materialise.
  5. Car celebrates it's third birthday in a few days time. Took advantage of the 2 year Skoda Assist offer (as there was no comparable deal around), but declined the extended warranty. It also passed the MOT with a couple of advisories on the front tyres.
  6. Sadly I will need to go through this route if I desire the maps to be updated. Currently on V4. Incidentally how often are the maps updated (imagine annually by the version no's) and if so which time of the year do they generally appear?
  7. I passed by the LED interior light as it was listed for a Rapid 'limousine'. Perhaps as the darker nights draw in I will revisit again since free delivery for this product is offered.
  8. Good price as long as there are no other bidders. Fortunately I already have one along with a full size spare.
  9. Order also arrived today. Just need some fine weather to fit the door seals. To bulk out the order I picked up the universal tablet holder (with holder for the headrest) for my son when he is a rear passenger. Being able to rotate this 360 degrees the bracket was upside down when it arrived. Not wanting to snap it, it took brute force to move it (no instruction to suggest there is a lockable collar). Never-the-less it is sturdy. Hopefully the sports pedal covers will be less challenging!!
  10. Many thanks for the heads up concerning the 20% code. Order now placed for a multitude of items to include the discounted rear tunnel mat!
  11. No longer commando  Thanks for the info NigNB, now purchased and fitted. Adds no real difference other than a dust cover (possible sound dampener) but I now have complete satisfaction knowing its there!
  12. I've been driving one of these for the past 9 months. Admittedly it has 15" alloys and no plastic skirting, but it looks from afar like a scoutline with such large arch gaps .
  13. That's what I'm contemplating, only it's justifying any cost on something that will rarely get seen, but taking 'comfort' that it's there
  14. Has anyone happened to have priced up the diesel engine cover (+ parts) with a dealer (or other stockist for that matter)? Having looked at yours in envy RiderXXL I feel now that I'm driving around without any pants on :peek:
  15. Have you thought it could be us who have an outstanding 'product enhancement' which needs addressing. This will bring our fuel gauges in line with Stormchaser? I will be contacting my local dealer in the morning for this 'normal' and 'characteristic' behaviour for my fuel gauge, since there is only gradual movement in an anti-clockwise direction (it is a diesel!).
  16. I'm currently on the variable service and when I last looked a visit to the dealer was penned in around April time. Oddly I find this is something that can't be viewed on the Maxi dot when you are driving, and is something I keep forgetting to look at either before entering or leaving the car when the engine is off.
  17. I couldn't find my 'Dremel' (Lidl alternative) at the time which could have also done the job . The only other advice I can add is before you push the plastic plug in with one hand (in the newly drilled hole), create some resistance with the other hand from behind, as the plastic liner can flex a little with you pushing the plug. I found that it went in a little 'cleaner' this way.
  18. All very welcome - but evidently more that can go wrong. As alluded to earlier in this thread a heated fronted screen wouldn't go a miss.
  19. With the fitment of rears I imagine any positioning is partially dictated by the predrilled holes / wheel liner etc.
  20. Assuming from your photos 'chrisgreen' you have 15" alloys, you should have no issues in fitting the front flaps without removing the wheels . Refer to my last posting on the thread below. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/335333-mudflaps/page-2
  21. Out of interest when is a cam belt change for a diesel? My last car was 10 years / 125000 miles - which fortunately someone else paid for, as I replaced it for the Spaceback .
  22. I could feel 'mounting holes' or something when inspecting the rear seat this morning - it was too late to do this last night when posting. Contacted the dealer later in the day and it would appear that the whole back would need to replaced. Expensive to justify a headrest - a shame as I would have probably stumped up the cost for one. Of course I could also look to add the rear armrest (with even more cup holders) / load through function at the same time!
  23. While available as a factory fitted item (currently £70) for both Rapid / Rapid Spaceback, can one be retrospectively added later? Presumably if there were mounts / fixings within the middle seat upright, an incision in the seat fabric would be required (with a means to stop any subsequent fraying). Just realised that for once I will have four passengers in the car over Christmas and noticed the additional headrest on a used car being sold on a local dealer's website.
  24. While a factory fitted option, the 'Rain & Light Assistant' would come in handy. Something I miss (the auto wipers) from my previous car.
