1. Legally you are allowed to do anything you like on your property except cause nuisance to your neighbours. Your neighbours have the same rights as you to enjoy the facilities of their property. - If your dog is barking, if you have a smoky barbeque, if you play loud music- and the neighbours consider any of these things nuisance you must refrain. Check with your local council and you'll see this is correct.
2. in case of an emergency removal of stab vests - Its to show the shape of their heads
3. It seems that only the lorry driver and his boss know that you witnessed the accident - I think it would be proper for you to contact the police and report what you saw - they will be grateful for an independent witness. The MPV could have stalled and been unable to restart his engine this would surely make the lorry driver guilty of careless driving.
4. If you receive TV down the internet you may get away with not having a TV licence. A TV licence authorises you to receive broadcast signals on a TV receiver - it should not be necessary to receive via a computer and broadband.
5. No attempt at wind up - I merely wanted to ask if taxi drivers consider the Octy 2 as g ood as the Octy1. Unfortunately it appears I only got one reply from an actual taxi driver.
6. What do you guys think of the New Octavia ? I have a lot of respect for your opinions you're the ones that really know. There was a time when every other taxi was an octi but it seems to me the new octy isnt replacing the old one on the taxi ranks ?
7. It is a fact that more wear takes place when warming up the engine - than would take place in the next 12 hours driving when fully warmed up. An old school of thought was therefore to let the engine warm up gently before driving off - however it is now recognised that the 'cold wear' still takes place no matter what you do, so save petrol, start up and drive gently till fully warmed up.
8. It's a good channel so far, but must they increase the sound volume so much during the adverts ?
9. Absolutely correct - When Hamilton went off in China you could see Grey patches on his rear tyres which looked like canvas. In Brazil he gets a box of neutrals not once but twice ! ( Easlily arranged from the Pits). Why did Mclaren give him such a short run on the supersoft tyres ? he was at least holding his own on them - Why didn't Mclaren give him any fuel during his second pit stop ? they knew he couldnt get to the end - thus condemning him to an additional stop which destroyed his chances. Mclaren is a top established F1 team, don't tell me they can make such elementary mistakes as these. As a result of spygate i reckon an under the table agreement was made to give Ferrari both the constructors and Drivers Championship or else Mclaren would have been chucked out of F1.
10. I cannot believe what I've seen in the last two races - you could see the canvas on Hamiltons rear tyres when he crashed out in China. He twice gets a gearbox full of neutrals in todays race.(easily arranged from the pits these days). Why didnt Mclaren fuel his car on the second pit stop ? They are bound to have known a further stop would have killed his chances. Why was Alonso so short on pace ? Mclaren have been one of the top teams for years - don't tell me they can make such elementary mistakes in two races. To minimise damage to F1 by the spying scandal, was some under the counter deal made to guarantee Ferrari both constructors and Drivers championship ?
11. as the "holier than thou" brigade sit in their cars cursing those smokers they may see about them, it would be nice if they would turn their attention to the far more dangerous smoke emitted by their car engines !. They've had their way and beaten smokers but has anyone noticed the next target ?. I remember listening to some smart *** lady doctor on radio4 the morning the smoking legislation failed to pass through parliament ( yes it did fail - the Parliament act was used illegally to force it through) - she, thinking the legislation would pass, said it was all so wonderful" now we can move on to tackle obesity!" Has anyone noticed that almost every news bulletin contains various healthy eating warnings ? so watch out fatties you're next ! you'll be banned from public places so as not to offend the sensibilities of the "beautiful people". But when will vehicle emissions reach the top of the list ? It'll be a while, too much big business involved, bugger the health implications! and it seems to me that the two faced holier than thou's all have cars, so they won't wanna back this cause !!!!!
12. Same here cost me three new valves - stick to the black plastic ones no-one will pinch them, and they'll keep dust out.
13. Thats very realistic oil smoke coming from the B17 - forces me to ask was it really on fire ?
14. I'm a moderate smoker - I would probably have given it up years ago were it not for the "Holier than thou" brigade trying to force me ! I will decide what I do with my life -I will not be forced by some 30 year old governmental assistant doctor, - If I chose to gamble with my life it's no different to Rock climbers who fall off mountains, racing drivers who crash, etc etc. I fully agree with no smoking in restaurants, but why can't pubs be allowed to use smoking rooms closed off from the rest of the pubs rooms and bars ? then us smokers could kill ourselves off in peace. Incidentally when we die we all usually fall back on the NHS at the end, smokers or not. We should be gratefull to smokers for dying early thus saving paying them pensions.
15. A friends wife drove home one evening and gave him a right *******ing because he'd just had the car serviced and it hadn't been done right ! - making a terrible noise !!! He went out to take a look, and she'd driven many miles (including a long stretch on a fast dual carriageway) with a flat tyre which had disintegrated - all that was left was bits of wire wrapped round the bare wheel - she'd driven home on the rim!
16. A friend and his wife were going down to the beach for a little sunbathing - as the beach came into sight his wife said "Ah look the tides coming in " My friend stared for a moment and thought to himself ' How can she tell? bit of interesting info coming up here' so he asked her how she could tell which way the tide was going ? She replied "the waves are falling onto the beach - therefore the tide is coming in - if it was going out the waves would fall the other way " ! Some years ago my wife and I were taking the children to Tenby for a holiday - as we were driving past Swansea my wife suddenly said " There must be a huge slaughterhouse in Swansea " - I asked why she thought that ? she said " it's marked on all the roadsigns swansea abbatoir". As we passed the next bilingual roadsign the penny dropped - "Swansea / Abertawe " (Abertawe is Welsh for Swansea). Anybody able to add to these two tales ?
17. You must see a solicitor - the first thing that solicitor will tell you is "do not move out of the house". A lot of the previous posts are giving you advice based on barroom misconceptions - If you follow some of this advice you will find yourself in a bedsit still paying the mortgage on your own house where your ex-wife will be living with new man and your children ! Oh, and yes, you'll also be paying maintenance for the children as well. This actually happened to a friend of mine. For christ sake see a solicitor - you dont need to pay them till its all over and if you're skint they'll take monthly payments. When I got divorced the Solicitor cost me £600 (admittedly 10 years ago) but this included court appearances to argue custody of the kids (incidentally you have as much right as your wife to keep the kids - this business of woman always gets the kids is long gone!) which I won. My solicitor was brilliant and saved me making big big big mistakes which would have cost me a fortune, and quite possibly my kids. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish !
18. Exactly same thing happened to me after 17 years married. It's a dreadful shock but you will get over it believe me ! You must must must get a solicitor immediately ! you could be in deep trouble if you dont. Do you own your house or have a mortgage ? How old are the kids ? Do you have a joint bank account ? Do not move out of your house ! stay there no matter what, sleep in seperate rooms - If you leave and she stays there with the kids, you could be forced to pay the mortgage and council tax until the youngest Kid is 16 years old. Only then would the house be sold and value raised shared 50 - 50 between you and your ex. Watch she doesnt empty your joint Bank account. Absolutely vital you get a solicitor immediately!!!!!. believe me having been there done it and got the T shirt I know what im talking about. Take comfort in one thing, at the moment your are going through the most desperate, miserable, bitter thing life can offer - but there is light at the end of the tunnel - it does get better, and eventually you will see your new life being better than ever it was while you were with your ex-wife! There is so much I can tell you about my experience it would take all night and all tomorrow ! - if it would help, send me a personal message and we could talk privately. Many Sympathies and best wishes anyway,

21. You know, some of the ranting and ravings I see on here lead me to doubt the mental health of some of us ! If you feel a bit unstable at times try the Mental Health Hotline for advice. [Click Me
