  1. Hello. SWMBO has been having some issues with her Fabia over the past few weeks. The temperature gauge stays on cold all the time unless she is stuck in traffic when it move towards normal temp. On top of that, she also says that the heater will only blow luke warm air (which gets warmer when stuck in traffic). When she first started having problems, I replaced the temperature sender however it doesn't seem to have made any difference. I was going to replace the thermostat next but thought I'd ask the experts before spending any more money! Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? Thanks, Rob Edit: I probably should have mentioned that it is a 1.4mpi engine...
  2. To be fair I think you are right. They do have some very good deals and I don't tend to have any issues when I've been in a city. However living (and working) in the country means my signal is less than perfect and I have been disappointed with the level of customer service so I'm always negative about 3...:(
  3. I'm on my third handset now and I've had the same problem with all of them:(. I've actually bought an O2 pay and go sim card which I'm using alongside my contract phone so I can contact/be contacted when I'm having problems...
  4. I've had nothing but trouble with 3. Some days I have nearly full signal at work then the next day I may get no signal at all. Plus I can't get a signal at home. The customer call centre are no help at all. I signed up on a cheap deal but I can't wait for it to finish now...
  5. I'm with Sky BB now and it works faultlessly with Xbox live and it only costs me £5/month. I think they've got a 3months free deal on at the minute as well. The only downside is that you have to use their equipment but since you said you wanted a free router, that probably isn't a bad thing
  6. Is it really that bad? Maybe that is why the courier won't collect!
  7. Evergreen Close Good Idea. I hadn't thought about getting him to drop it off. I'll ring him again later and see if he will. I just want my ARB now, I was hoping to fit it this weekend while I was crawling about underneath the car doing one or two other jobs:thumbdwn:
  8. He seemed genuine enough during our conversations and in emails. I just think he is going out and missing the couriers. I have his full name, address, and telephone numbers so I don't think it's a scam
  9. Not really sure where to post this as it is more a plea for help than anything... If anyone lives in the Marchwood area, would you be willing to collect a parcel (wrapped anti roll bar) from someone and make it available for a courier to collect it. Basically I bought an ARB from ebay two weeks ago and had to pay the guy by cheque. I arranged a courier to collect it last week however so far it hasn't been collected (apparently they've tried 3 times). I've been in contact with the guy I bought it from pretty much everyday and he keeps saying the courier didn't turn up but I'm not sure who to believe anymore.:( If anyone can help, I'd be eternally grateful and I'd obviously send some beer money your way to cover any costs and as a way of saying thanks for your help and the inconvenience. Rob:O
  10. I'm 26 now and still waiting for my insurance to drop a lot:(
  11. damn it. I know the tune but can't think of the name... Its going to bug me as well now. Oh and the other half says you're a good whistler:D
  12. My mum has had an Alfa 156 2.4 JTD for the past few years and it has been brilliant. No real problems with it (except a leak in the screen wash system) and it goes so well. I was very tempted to get one before I got the Golf but insurance costs put me off
  13. I've been listening to the new Snow Patrol album this week. Took me a while to get into it but now I really like it
  14. I've no idea what has happened but Russell Brand is a t**t and should be fired anyway!
  15. not really tried the IE yab addon to be honest. I downloaded it a while ago but I'm that used to having to open IE to view certain websites that I do it out of habit now...
  16. Yep, I used to struggle with Achilles and FF and I had to use IE to update it. It looks like they've sorted things out recently though as I've been able to use FF. I did wonder if that was what caused me problems last week. When you consider what we and every other user have to pay to use the site, you think they'd be able to make it work properly with every browser...
  17. I was completing an e-tender and updating our Achilles profile. The tender was split into several sections, but you couldn't move on to the next section (saving your current section) until all questions had been answered. As I had written all the answers by hand earlier I was typing them up onto the form and attaching relevant documents when FF decided it was going to crash:(. Gutted, didn't even begin to cover how I felt...
  18. I use firefox almost exclusively however the memory leak has been causing me problems recently and its been a real PITA (cost me 2 hours work last week). I've been thinking about trying Chrome but haven't got round to it yet.
  19. I miss the heated seats I had in my fabia. On cold frosty mornings they are brilliant while you are waiting for the car to warm up. and as Tom said they are good for a bad back
  20. Troy's got a bed in the corner of our bedroom and usually sleeps there although we leave the door open so he can can get a drink from the Kitchen if he wants... It always makes me jump when he wakes me up by sniffing my ear:O
  21. I'd be interested, would love to have a decent drive round there. It really just depends on the date as I may be working or moving house.
  22. I don't like it, the front end is too wide and it seems odd that despite having such a wide front end it only has 1 seat...
  23. sounds like a rubbish end to the holiday. Hope you make a quick recovery. When I was younger I used to be quite accident prone and on a family holiday I managed to trip up when running down a hill and take all the skin off my knees (I've still got the scars). Later in the holiday I fall backwards off a swing and crack my head open as I couldn't straighten my legs to balance:O. Still not as bad as you
  24. Yeah I'm signed up with them however as you say, bugger all has happened. I'm thinking that rather than trying to get a discount at a particular retailer for 1,000,000 people, use a bunkering system (like Keyfuels or diesel direct) for a smaller more manageable numbers. That gives the buying power so you could get reasonable discounts from suppliers...
  25. Unfortunately not. We buy in bulk for our fleet of LGV's and vans. If I could sell it on I would... (I can't even get cheap fuel myself!) It makes me wonder though about the possibilities of setting up and operating a fuel card system. By charging members a deposit to get a card (to make sure they don't just fuel up and leg it!) and then an admin fee on top of each transaction I think there is the potential to offer a decent saving on current fuel prices. I've seen similar farming co operatives where they bulk buy and bunker to reduce fuel costs... hmmm:rubchin:
