  1. Hi, I got the same message a few weeks ago (and it also happened to other friends having an Octavia III in Italy). Go to your preferred workshop and ask for a company technical note about it: it is necessary to replace a sensor under the DSG command (cheap enough, but a lot of time needed to do the work). I cannot give any clue on the replacement cost as I still had my 5 years warranty in place (so I did not pay anything ).
  2. Hi Gurfen! As i wrote in the previous posts, I was apparently able to switch my descent control from "not available" to "available" by charging the specified byte in the ABS module. I could not complete the change as I did not see in the driving mode page on the internal screen the added mode (i.e. selection from either individual/sport/economy/normal to those four+Offroad), so the only way to get it working was to manually add a physical button (which I did not do, I prefer electronic changes as I do not have experience in manually patching the car electric system...) I you want to check if you get more lucky I would propose you: - make a VCDS map (including adaptation channels!) of 5F (radio) and 03 (ABS) modules - try to read actual car values (I also have VCDS, in my example I used Obdeleven) - try to modify byte 24 as said before - read again the actual car parameters and/or check in module 5F (as your car is newer) if you can have the driving mode page to make available as a choice also the "off road" mode. If not, you may try to temporary change the behavior of one of the existing physical buttons near the gear shift (i do not have that setting in my MIB1 radio, you should be luckier....) - and then report everything here so that we may eventually benefit from your outcome, or help you in case it will not work this way.
  3. Well done @toshyKAa !!! Did you install it (as apparently it is a newer version, 411 compared to 409) on a Columbus MIB1? Would you please confirm it is working?
  4. I've got an important update :-) As I've seen in another topic from Marcone (this one: Kodiaq offroad retrofit ) that he was able to activate Offroad mode in module 3 (ABS) by changing a single bit (+1024 in byte 24, so bit 3 on).... I've been trying to compare my ABS 3 map with a Golf Alltrack map.... ..then I realized the Alltrack ABS map had ONE MORE byte at the end (30 instead of 29)... ...so I realized that my byte 23, compared to the Alltrack map, was missing exactly the byte 23, bit 3... This is the outcome (I used obd11 as I was at the office, without my pc): Before the change (SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE): After the change (system AVAILABLE!) This is a good step! It is clearly not enough, however, as I have now to find a way to "make visibile" in the graphic menu available when the "mode" button is pressed the additional "offroad" profile. Does somebody wants to help? (In a nutshell: modification to make available the hill descent mode is: MODULE 3 ABS, BYTE (total number of available bytes - 6), BIT 3=1)
  5. I'm subscribing to this thread as well :-) I am living in Italy, I have a my2015 Scout (DSG, diesel 184cv) and I may test any outstanding parameter we may find useful. My data are reported here : http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?12112-Hill-Descent-Control-(Offroad-mode)-Skoda-Octavia-Scout-my2015 (i suspect solution may be found in module 3, 19 or 5F parameters) If Trundelnut and Jeeves may eventually help on obtaining an offroad-enabled Scout map...would be great!
  6. Very well done Marcone! Bravissimo (sono italiano anch'io)! As I do have both an Octavia Scout and a Superb 4x4 (my sister has it) I am really interested in trying the same modifications....Would you please provide some more detailed step-by-step info? (se vuoi scrivimi in italiano e ti mando un esempio)
  7. Video in motion can be enabled also with obdEleven (at a cheaper price)
  8. 100 credits = 14.59 euros, if I remember correctly. Another way of getting credits for free, however, is by opening the application every day: each day you open it you get 1 credit, and by selecting a specific option which will open a popup with advertising you may get 5 more credits....total is 6 credits for free each day.
  9. Yes, it has more or less the same functionality (I have both). More: with apps (paying some credits, 10 points for simple things, 100 for complex ones) you may get a change without the need of searching for details (which parameter has to be changed, which bits etcetera): fr instance, you pay 10 credits, click on "activate needle swap" and it's done. You pay 100 credits, click on "VIM - video in motion" and it gets activated (no need to know what has to be done). Less: you do not get individual bits descriptions for all configurations: for instance, if you want to do on your own the "needle swap" used in the example above, and you know you have to modify bit 1 in byte XX (I don't remember which one is in my Octavia....), if you open byte XX you may change all bits, but there is no description beside each of them (so it is a "blind mode" way, you trust your sources and you apply the change, non possibility to check if it is the right bit or not).
  10. Hi everybody! I was wondering, by comparing the RVC (rear view camera) images as seen in Octavia III (my2015) and Superb III (my2016), if we may have any way to mod the actual car configuration (by using VCDS and/or obd11, I have both) in order to add to OCtavia the "alternative view modes" (see attached images, there are 3 buttons on the right side of the camera image) that are available on the Superb. Does anybody know anything, or has somehow tried to code this modification? Any input/feedback is welcome!
