Hi everyone
I'm hoping that someone here can give me some guidance on updating the sat-nav maps on my Octavia Mk3 - It's got a Columbus system.
Apologies in advance for being a bit (very) clueless with this. I'm currently muddling my way through doing this with the help of Google. What I'm looking to do is just update the map for Uk/Ireland only.
What I've done so far is:
Gone to the Skoda update portal and entered my cars VIN
This is the download option presented to me:
I've downloaded this zip file - it's called HIGH12f_P350_EU_202345.zip - and have extracted it to the root of a SD card. This is the file structure:
It s got separate 'metainfo2.txt' files in the root folder and in the two subfolders. I think I only need the 'Mib1' folder but I'll leave them both on the card.
I only want to update the map for 'UKIreland_eu'. How do I exclude the updates for the other countries? Is it a case of just deleting the folders for the other countries, or do I need to edit the 'metainfo2.txt' file in the Mib1 folder?
I already tried the map update earlier today, but I started getting a warning about the car battery running low. So I started the car - when I did this, the infotainment unit restarted and the map updating stopped.
The sat-nav seems to be ok, but I'm worried that there may be an issue, as the map updates were interrupted before completing.
For info, this is the current software version on my car:
and this this is the update option I get when I insert the SD card in the car:
Any help/guidance that anyone can me with this would be appreciated. As I said, I really just need the map updates for UK and Ireland only.
Thanks
