  1. Had mine replaced under warranty on my previous car Did it while in for service no questions asked no arguments
  2. My mk2 DSG did 126,00 in 2 years and went back with the original pads DSG number 2 did 122,000 in 2 years and the front pads needed changing about a month before returning to ŠKODA Current DSG has done has 70,000 in 12 months with no outward signs of excessive wear
  3. I'm on my third DSG equipped Octavia in 5 years First did 126,000mls in 2 years 2nd did 122,000mls in 2 years Currently on 60,000mls in 10 months No problems to report As previously said I wouldn't go back to a manual
  4. I called Eibach and was told the "emergency services" kit was not listed and was probably factory fit only
  5. I have fitted coil spring assisters on my combi bought on evil bay for about £23.00 Raised the back just the right amount with no adverse effect on the handling
  6. I don't know about the other forms of finance but mine is effectively a long term hire car and I doubt Enterprise etc would not appreciate us modding one of their cars Although there was a guy on the Astra net who did and "forgot" to tell his company, posted pictures etc and then was surprised when he got fired
  7. A few years ago I chatted with Chris the owner of Regal in Southampton while having my Astra 1.9CDTI van remapped If I understood correctly he said that a knowleagable operator should be able to check the ECU log for the number of "flashes " and erase the log Not sure if this is possible on a VAG ECU But they can check how often the engine has been over boosted and use that as a starting point for further investigations i.e. take it for a drive and BOOT it Did 156,000mls in the Astra after remapping at 1,000mls never had any engine problems If I was buying again instead of contract hiring I would not hesitate to remap ( VW finance won't even let you fit a personalised number plate) Don't know if any of the VAG tuners do it but Regal remaps were warrantied for any engine damage not covered by Vauxhall
  8. You might want to take a look at Solarplexius tint panels Had them on my MK11 combi Excellent and hard wearing except that you cannot drop the rear windows Arrived from Sweden in about 3 days Never used the retaining clips as they stayed in place on their own
  9. Thanks Janne I am following up on your link
  10. Just read another post re strange noises and it seems a spare wheel does a lot to quieten things down Does the OP have a spare or a can of goo ?
  11. Does anyone have a part No for this ???? I'm sure it could be ordered if we get one
  12. As I said previously mine is the quietest of three VRS,s in 4 years You could try playing with tyre pressures I run 35 front 40 rear as I carry a lot of tools etc i also have a boot mat from super ŠKODA which may help
  13. I have been told that the "chirp" has been removed from the lastest ECU's and at the moment cannot be activated
  14. I have done just under 7,000mls in 5 weeks with my 4x4 VRS and so far it is the quietest of the 3 VRS's I have had No vibrations or rumbles (fingers crossed now I've opened my big mouth) I would say a trip to a dealer asap in the new year
