  1. Right then, the saga continues! After getting a replacement MAF off eBay (2nd hand but off a reputable seller with warranty), I am still getting the following issues - 2 fault codes I can't clear are: 01350 - Sensor 1 for exhaust temperature, bank 1 (G235): short to plus P0546, short with power. 00258 - Mass airflow sensor (G70) signal too low P0102 short with ground - intermittent. Result is the car still has coil light flashing, and EML light on constantly and has put itself is some sort of safe mode, so totally useless to drive! I also still have a lot of thick white smoke (steam?) when car is running, but no obvious leaks. Did a block test which was clear, so head seems ok. Also, only replaced EGT sensor about a year ago, so at a loss. Am thinking maybe electrical faults, rather than actually faulty parts?? Any help or advice greatly appreciated :-)
  2. Hi DGW, Thanks for your help. Looking at the Ross tech pages, I think I sorted the one fault with loose hose, just new to get diagnostics done to see I fault is gone. As for EGT fault code, I'm calling my local skoda dealer tomorrow to confirm if same sensor as recently replaced. I think it is, and if so it hasn't lasted more than a few months! Am looking at getting a second hand MAF once I confirm part number. Once I've for these few points sorted, I'll update he link with if it's helped at all. Fingers crossed!! Thanks again for your post :-)
  3. Hi mikey, haven't 100% got the location of the leak figured out, but was thinking maybe to do with ERG or EGT sensors as I think one or both may be water cooled? Any ideas on this one appreciated :-)
  4. Lookin good! Well worth the cash as the old style badges were looking dated. Once I've got mine back on the road, I think I'll follow your lead. Chrome and black - very nice!! Btw - where did you get your front grille? Is it a replacement or a spray job? Either way it looks awesome :-)
  5. Hi guys, desperate for any help I can get with my 07 plate diesel Vrs estate that's currently off the road. All started a few months back when it started producing loads of white smoke on start up, until the temp got up after 2/3 min of driving. Noticed I was also losing coolant somewhere (no visible leaks). Then it started 'coughing' once you accelerated past 3000rpm in 3rd gear and above. Took it to local independent garage who did a swirl flap delete on it. This cured the problem of the 'cough' straight away and it drove like a dream for about a month. Still smoking on start up but I could live with that. Then driving home the coil light started flashing and car went into limp mode and wouldn't let revs go over 3000. Managed to drive it for a week ok with this intermittent fault, then one day coil light on, limp mode, EML light on and suddenly I'm driving a tractor down the A43! Friend has plugged it in and got the following fault codes: P0102, P0546 and P0234. I think the 2nd code relates to get sensor which I replaced a few months ago, and final code maybe due to a pipe off that has been reconnected. Any help or comments greatly appreciated as it too cold and miserable to walk everywhere! Thanks, Matt
  6. Well, we all remember the jokes from the 80's and 90's - why has a skoda got a heated rear window and all that?! Well, I'm glad to say it's all changed and now like most of you, I'm proud of my skoda (most of the time, but I've posted a big "help me" on that one!). I live near Bournemouth in Dorset, and with the arrival of a new baby I was ordered to buy a 'sensible estate' by the wife and I was then I managed to persuade her that skoda do a lovely diesel estate. She liked the colour and I liked the Vrs badge! Well, had a while happy motoring but now Vlad the vrs is ill, but tryin to get him sorted. Anything going on in the Bournemouth area and I'm always happy to meet up. All the best and hope to meet some faces soon :-)
