I'm out at the moment but the report seems to show that the computer asked the tech to fill with 3.8 litres of oil, it then gives a weight of oil entered which I'll check when home but then if I multiply this number by .84 (density of oil?) will this give this litres entered? Surely an overfill would void the test? Edit, also worth noting upon receipt of the car back I checked the dipstick before driving away and it was massively overfilled Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The service manager used it as "his" car to do the mileage and the garage payed for the fuel and the test to be carried out. Do you have a copy of the most recent procedure ie the 621 miles one? The only way I can think it got anywhere near a pass would be if the guys driving and routes were massively different to mine. Even so with the level of consumption I experienced I can't see it getting close to a pass. Still waiting on the garage getting the technical report from skoda. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Goneoffski thanks for posting the test procedure!! much appritiated!! 100kms of dynamic driving. Mine was obviously done of 600 miles and I don't know what the mileage consisted of. Could have been one big run for all I know. Also my invoice shows Mobil one oil was used should it not have been vw brand/Castrol?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It was the supplying garage who have payed for the test and took the vehicle so as their the customer I doubt skoda would be interested. I did insist to the garage before the test that they should receive this paperwork and to get me a copy. I've told them I don't accept the results of the test until they have this paperwork so they chasing that. The test was done over 600 miles according to the garage. The invoice also shows they've charged for 3.9 litres of oil so is it possible they overfilled for the test as the capacity is 3.6? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mine came back from the oil consumption test today and has somehow passed (they would have had to quarter the consumption). Asked the garage I bought from to give me the test paperwork and all they have told me they received was the invoice which was forwarded to me. Does anyone know what the following taken from the invoice actually means?! : Carried out 2nd part of consumption test using VAS and found consumption to be within tolerance range of 0.12 litre per 1000km. Sadly the likelihood would be that they send it to auction another dealer would buy then another buyer like me (who probably should have done his prior reaserch better ) ends up with an out of manufacturers warranty car with serious issues. Surely soon we will see 3 year old plus cars with 4+ previous owners for the reason. At what point will independent dealers start refusing them as part exes? I find it astounding that the one previous owner of my car had obviously put up with the oil consumption for 3 years before selling. Has skoda/seat/vw ever admitted to anyone exactly why these cave lumps suffered from oil consumption issues? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's the dealers own warranty that is provided during the three months not an outside warranty companies. Looking at the warranties that's the one I would have gone for given the piece of mind a skoda one should have given me. I do highly doubt the garage would pay for a replacement engine so another car is what I imagine would be offered to me, when I dropped the car off I told the service manager my consumption and very carefully hinted that they'ed likely have the car back. Things won't move forward now until skoda has done the test and in the meantime I'm stuck with a dreary 1.0 Nissan micra courtesy car haha!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The dealership themselves give 3 months warranty with all used cars bought therefore as I'm in the first 3 months it's on the garage. They were selling extended warranty plans with the AA for when the first 3 months ended but I didn't take this up due to the extortionate cost. At the end of the three months I was going to Get a separate aftermarket warranty this another company. If it fails I can't see the dealer paying for a new engine I would have thought they'll likely try and offer me another car. Would I be within my rights to demand a new engine in this car? Hi ozfabia Yeah mine should fail miserably then!! My situation is slightly different in that I bought an out of skoda warranty from an independent dealer but it is in warranty with them. Thankfully they agreed that the test should be done with a skoda dealer and not themselves. So should I be getting the car back to run myself during the test because this isn't how the guy at my dealer worded it? Obviously due to my massively over the failure rate consumption I won't be accepting a pass result if that's what they come back with Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi all!! Just thought I'd update I've now done 1150 miles and its used nearly 2 litres of oil!!! Informed the garage I purchased from and after initially being told this is normal (I laughed) the car is going to a skoda dealer for an oil consumption test on Wednesday. Is anyone able to confirm what the most recent test procedure entailed and what the failure figure is please?! Much love James Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
