  1. That sounds pretty ideal Thank you very much sir! I presume the USB connector would just slot out under the trim near the ash tray (money holder in my case) and the other little storage area then
  2. Been playing around with this in haldfords a bit today but looking at the amazon reviews I have a couple of questions regarding this 1) Does it have DAB Radio/can it receive radio or would you have to stream using spotify/google play etc 2) How do you connect the cable into it for your phone? (I have a pixel 2 XL - USB Type C port, and also an iphone for my work phone - Lightning connector) If I wanted to swap between android auto/car play would this be possible, or does the cable have to be basically permanently inserted into the unit (ie: I don't want to have to remove trim to change phones if I need to) 3) I can't see if it supports a reversing camera, I was looking at another unit that did but won't fit into the mk1 fabia due to screwing in instead of clipping so was interested in seeing if I could get one of those as well to link in, are there any pictures of the back/documentation about this that came with the product? edit: 4) Can it play radio and use google maps simultaneously? edit2: found a manual online and looked on the sony website and youtube review of the unit, answer to question 3 is it does support a reversing camera
  3. Adding my 2 cents as I also have a mk1 fabia vRS and would like a headunit that can link to my phone/use google maps instead of having to have my phone mounted and plugged in to charge (to prevent it dying) Using the link above it takes me to a page saying that the product is not found, looking for something that would be simple to fit (although I will still get a garage to do this for me)
  4. Well when I was talking to the garage they originally said they couldn't do it and would have to send me to a specialist or something, but since I have the immobiliser code written down that they should be able to reprogram the key for me and just charge labour. Not sure how they'd do it however
  5. I bought the car with 1 key, lost it and had new keys made and programmed. Since then I have now found the original key (which no longer works). Is there a way I can reprogram this key back in without VCDS or is it a case of taking it to the local garage? I had a reasonable quote and it's booked in for MOT at an independent this month. I tried the guides on youtube which show how to do it but unfortunately this didn't work for me Note: I own 3 remote keys and 1 standard Any help appreciated
  6. Only problem with Faboka is the distance (I've since relocated and not updated my profile), even getting up to shark is a pretty long journey for me now :(
  7. I have a MK1 Fabia vRS at the moment which has a remap on it (not sure where from as it was on when I bought it!) and a tuning box. I've been thinking of getting a new map put onto it so I know where it's from, I know Shark are widely liked but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the More-BHP maps? Thanks
  8. from my experience - car seems to run alot smoother on ASDA diesel than Tesco, there's also a BP garage on the way home which does cut price fuel 2 days a week - to the same price as ASDA, might try that next time car hits reserve and see if it feels any better and compare mileage
  9. I missed the last meeting (or two, I don't even know anymore) Still working every saturday at work, but now depending on the date my shift could start as late as 6pm, so may be able to make it
  10. Big Ferrari fan (racing at least, wouldn't want one of their road cars unless it's an F40 - don't kill me), I used to think Vettel was a bit of a **** but one of my friends at university did his placement at Red Bull and got to meet him and told me he's a really nice guy. Bit disappointed however that I can't seem to find anywhere to have a bit of a punt on Ferrari getting a 1-2 finish this season, I was over the moon watching the grand prix at the weekend, always liked Kimi too, especially when he was coming through the pack, can't wait to see what Ferrari can do this season!
  11. sorry guys couldn't make this one was busy working (and being a bit poorly, made a great team with my manager today though with us both being under the weather and being the only two there all day!)
  12. Thanks guys, ordered one and will have a play soon as it arrives
  13. Hi folks! I have the Torque Pro app on my Android phone and was looking for an adapter that I could connect too that'd fit into my car so I can start using a few of the features and get a feel for the app, does anyone know if the following adapter would work with my car (MK1 Fabia vRS). http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELM327-Super-Mini-V2-1-OBD2-Bluetooth-Adapter-Auto-OBDII-Scanner-Torque-Android-/221713465014?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item339f26feb6 Thanks Mike
  14. Being a bit of an android fanboy. That's one of the good things about iPhones, if you have other apple products, they sync together wonderfully and there's very little messing around. I would much rather my Nexus 5 over any apple product however but that's the beauty of it, each person has completely different requirements for what they need from their phone. The only real way is to use both phones yourself, see which one you prefer, don't be overly swayed by the Apple phones having lower spec, since the software is optimised for the hardware much more than on android the apps still run great - even if some of the free android apps are paid for on the app store. Swings and round-a-bouts, depends completely what you want/your circumstances are. Source: Work in a phone shop Mike
  15. I'm in Yorkshire at the moment but in a couple of weeks might be in birmingham for an afternoon/evening (depending how things go) which I dont think is a far shout from where you are
