  1. Hi a, yes I tried that before and unless there is a huge delay in the water reaching the inside, then nothing. Looked at the liners but heads are all rounded on the bolts, need to drill them out. Think I have tried all I can with it, need to put it back together and if it is still bad then she'll just have to spend bucks at a garage and have them sus it out. Would likely be more than the car is worth! Thanks again for your help.
  2. Just went out for a nosy, had a crawl underneath, my mistake no void, just the underside of the rear seat, no sure what to think now. Took a picture of the part in question - Like a drain nipple, tons of them all over the underside! Poked a hole in the side of it, does look like there is a channel running it line from the front to this, God knows!
  3. No I know, you're right, worth checking the common areas to be sure, just hassle/time and it is an old/done car to be honest and not mine - Flat mates. I have my own car and my bike I need to get to. Seat is out, carpets fully up to diagnose where it was coming in, first I suspected the door seal but spotted the leak in seam and certain it is rising through that plug too as it is wet inside the hole and when I sealed it first time, water was still seeping up through the sealant, absorbing the water. I should have taken a photo before I applied the sealant. I'll aybe lift the other side to show you what/where I mean. I think I'll put a pin hole in the underside in that void and see if water comes out. Let you know the results, cheers again!
  4. Hi, Its no bad, cut out the undelay and rest is lifted to air dry. It is difficuly to explain but wouldn't be drilling direct through the floor, appears to be a a void under the floor where I presume the water is flooding into and building up then rising through the plug - Maybe coming from the rear or front? I don't know. Marority of it did seem to be rising up through that plug in rear, just concerned where it will go now if I have managed to seal it successfully...Maybe get a picture of it when I get time. I haven't had the skuttle panel off again to check the filter but it was dry in there the last time I had it off, top of bulk head under the dash is dry. Sorry maybe I am missing something but don't see the point in checking the grommet and housing again if it was actually seeping in through a join the metal body? .
  5. Cheers guys, I have sealed up the two strange plugs on the rear floor and around that seam at the back of the wheel arch, Allen head screws are rounded so need to drill them out to look under the cover. See if it holds, sealant was a bit old/putty like but thick and sticky - think it is still better than likes of gutter sealant. P.S Had a look underneath at the plug - Anyone know anything about this? how it drains? seems like a void for drainage behind the plug, could I simply drill a hole in this to let the water out?
  6. Thanks for the info, I could definately see it dribbling in directly at the bottom of a seam under the glove box, I'll get a look behind the ach liner to see if its clogged up, don't see it coming in through any grommit. The hole/plug thingy? Water must be running under the floor from the front, floor was dry this morning, parked facing downhill. Managed to seal water leaks the past but this one is tricky! Got some CT1 from work, can use this stuff under water, glue ships to harbours its that good, ha. Thanks again.
  7. Hi, Anyone help me on this? Just joined this on behalf of my flat mate, as her Octavia is leaking badly. Been reading about possible causes. Lifted carpets and removed passenger seat to try and find the cuprit! Thought it was the skuttle panel or perhaps the rear door seal but they seem fine. Poured water over windscreen and bulk head but nothing visable. Had some right heavy down pours there! Went out and spotted it slowly dripping in at a seam just under the glove box- Is that common? car was parked facing up hill that time. surely some sealant should fix that and suppose I should check behind the wheel arch for correct drainage? Never really looked at the grommet under the skuttle but this seems lower down, at back of wheel arch. Also a bit confused as there is a hole on the rear floor, water is coming up through this, what the hell is this? Going to get some proper sealant as ordinary stuff still let water through. Is it a jacking point or something? round hole with a rubber bit in the middle, looks cracked round the edge, Strange design with water running under the floor pan... Forgot to mention the hole in the boot too! Definately not suited to Scottish winters. Any info appreciated, Thanks, Allan
