  1. And there's me thinking I fancy a vrs iv so I need to place an order soon to replace my 2020 mk3.5 octy sportline ESTATE, best stick an order in now so I have it by the summer ... Then I read this thread....
  2. Just shy of 60 miles since refuel and its still stuck on 375 miles.. (600km) as the miles to empty. This refuel was a good test as the 50 miles plus before refuel were all at a steady motorway pace and again after refuel the same route again with a brimmed tank. I've never seen it report over 375 miles MTE... It does seem odd..
  3. Miles to empty will still no go above 375, even though tank after tank the car will exceed 400 miles. Also, ran the car down to 15 miles to empty yesterday following 75 cruising motorway miles, managed 47 litres into the tank.. Still 375 miles
  4. Презентация принципиально нового ŠKODA RAPID https://youtu.be/5u1Q-CGW3DE Don't know if this has already been posted, but the new rapid salon looks nice, however it won't be coming to Europe..
  5. Update to this one... First full tank done.. Refueled it to the brim and miles to empty has gone to 365 miles to empty.
  6. I had both front and rear discs changed on my 2016 superb, front discs after approx 6 months and rears at 3yrs, both replaced with oem parts and didn't suffer the same issue as the factory fitted ones.
  7. Yeah, if it feels safe to do so depending on other road users and visabilty. You know like you drive down an unlit motorway at 70mph without full beam on....
  8. Yeah, last Monday and Tuesday were the days in person before thry switched to online only, however all cars at bca are online auction. At the same time too for years... Worth looking at if you like a gamble..
  9. Thanks.. Yes, this makes sense.. Mine are like the low beam on the first video of 35mph, fact is I'm not driving any distances at present, cars only been on the motorway once on day 2 of ownership in day light..(had it 3 weeks) and only 270 miles on it... Bloody lockdown social distancing!
  10. I know this is of no help, my 2016 se business estate 2.0 tdi with 30k miles on the clock went through bca auction at £10,300 with zero bids. 2016/7 octavias(se business spec) where going through at £7.5 /8k with 40k miles with still no bids.. The best I saw for the time there was a 2016 fr Leon estate, £28k miles, for £8.5k. Some mega deals to be had private buying... But as always, the risk factor, but if buying ex lease at least 99% of time full service history and good condition, though the bca reports are spot on buying online
  11. Thanks. Just mentioned a moment ago that I was travelling at approx 35mph on a road I would normally travel quicker on but didn't due to the limited light length, but watching that video suggests that the lights were in "city" style mode due to the speed, so if I travelled quicker they would adapt.. Thsnks
  12. Thanks all for the replies.. Much appreciated.. Silver 1011, I think you may of called something out here....First off, thanks for the note about halogens bleed, useful to know... Let me explain the scenario, a nation speed limit b road road that I would normally travel 50mph down at night / darkness, no street lighting (drove it a million times,) I felt nervous going faster than 35mph due to the limited beam throw, (full beam fixed the issue) but at 35mph I thought there is no chance I can go quicker due to the dipped headlight beam length... Are we saying that if I was travelling at 45mph the lights may of adjusted the beam throw further afield? (some Testing needed) I think a key element of my 1st post is missing, maybe I should say if I'm travelling at 35mph, I don't think I can drive the same road at 60mph safely with the limited beam length if that makes sense. I'm going to read your link now...
  13. Not really as I'm not talking lifting them up beyond a normal light throw, the beam throw is way less than my 2016 mk3 Superb which had halogens Will take a look.. Thanks
  14. Just got a new mk3 octy with LED headlights and I'm finding the headlight beam throw is not as far as my previous 2016 superb. While the light output is great, the headlights really could do with just being that bit higher to light the road a bit further afield. Is this just how these units are or can they be adjusted? Thanks
  15. The MTE seems to be dropping now as expected.. Though does make me wondering if it will max out at 350 again.. Time will tell.
  16. If you have the cash in the bank and in no major rush, i would not go due to the gov recent message, plus use car prices are starting to hit rocket bottom... i went to the auction on Monday morning and stuff where going through with zero bids, so many "good buys" as a car to keep than to resale..
  17. Yeah, that's my thinking now.. Its dropped one bar on the gauge and another 11 miles it's dropped to to 330MTE I'm not going to add fuel yet, but now in theory it would need at least 12 litres to brim the tank which should increase the MTE to approx 420miles..but will wait..
  18. In regarding to fuel, its only had Costco fuel followed by the 8.5l of asdas.. I'm thinking its a software type issue as regardless on fuel quality, the MTE should of increased when more fuel was added... I'm going to run through this tank of fuel, am I still correct that the MTE is based on the previous 50 miles? Thanks
  19. Ok.. Slight update.. After 64 miles after refueling, the MTE just ticked down by 5 miles to 345m... So it must of been running on fresh air for them 64 miles.. I'm interested to see what the actual mileage will be off the tank too now. And then.. 2 miles later ticked down to 340 miles...
  20. From memory, that reset only works on since start and long term, I don't believe it resets since last refuel., but will try it. Thanks
  21. The instantaneous works fine and details the real time mpg. I may try a factory reset, however I was under the impression this will never reset the since refuel menu. (was always the case on my 2016 mk3 Superb.)
  22. How can you do that? I didn't think that was possible without actually adding fuel? Thanks
  23. In addition, checking the mot history on it, it covered 52k miles in 3 years, followed by approx 6k, 9k, 7k year on year to current date.. One thing If it was me I would like to know if there's any paper work on the front shocks.. March 2017 Advisory notice item(s) Nearside Front Shock absorber has a light misting of oil (2.7.3) Offside Front Shock absorber has a light misting of oil (2.7.3) March 2018. No report.. March 2019 Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories): Nearside Front Shock absorbers light misting of oil or has limited damping effect (5.3.2 (b)) Offside Front Shock absorbers light misting of oil or has limited damping effect (5.3.2 (b)) March 2020 No report...... If service history details these have been addressed, fine, if not I would be having a think why the mot in the hands of the dealer didn't pick up on this. Not a major issue as such, but good to know facts of future servicing requirement ...
