  1. Thanks for this. I've just enquired about whether this has been applied to my new Superb 1.5 TSI (got it in November) as I've had the same symptoms a few times. Each time I thought it was something I'd done! My car reg doesn't work in the recall checker app. Thanks again
  2. Boxing day parcel collection resulted in a photogenic result.
  3. Visited platinum on the same day as you it seems and saw the same L&K superb in business grey. Needless to say, 30 minutes later I ordered one in the same colour. Great service and I never had any upselling tactics with my Octavia purchased from them.
  4. If that mk4 image is genuine, I'm happier that there will be an Octavia I'd be happy to look at will be available
  5. Hey guys, My old car (PX'd for my current one) is now up for sale. The skoda dealer obviously auctioned it off as its miles from where I live http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201702132265291 If anyone has any queries let me know. Full service history and cam belt done at last service too.
  6. Well, I picked it up, not disappointed at all ... also loved the green cloth unveil in the middle of the showroom!!
  7. I think this is the drill one. http://www.skodaparts.com/product/octavia-estate-dog-guard-2006-2013-21390 (£101 +£15p&p) Non drill (travall branded) https://www.travall.co.uk/skoda/octavia-estate-2013-/travall-dog-guard-tdg1404 (£110 + free p&p) Seems a no brainer....
  8. ok so next on the agenda is dog guards. I've read (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/383678-boot-divider/?hl=%2Bdog+%2Bguard+%2Bdrill#entry4488113) that some OEM ones require drilling into headliner, which I'm totally against, and wont be asking the dealer to do... I've also seen that the Travall one, which seems to be preferred doesn't need drilling (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/416622-boot-liner-and-dog-guard/) Can anyone comment on suitability for an SE L with variable boot floor? You can pick up dog guards for around £30 which look like some scaffolding poles with mesh wire on them, not sure on the durability or safety of them to be honest!! I'd also like to put in a boot liner if possible... does the variable boot floor reduce my options? Also, can anyone comment as to how they secure their pooch in the boot? I should have looked closer when on the test drive but don't recall anything obvious to hook a seatbelt or strap onto... I'm expecting a call from the dealer next week to confirm a delivery date for the car so will raise it then, should I want them to order it.
  9. still listed on autotrader as a place to get a new Skoda. It appears they don't bother to reply to quote anymore, most likely due to switching to Subaru (see above).
  10. Ok... Telescopic bolt remover http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17-19-21-23mm-Extendable-Wheel-Telescopic-Car-Van-Brace-Socket-Tyre-Nut-Wrench-/221749970829 Wheel positioning bolt http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161250155864 Torque wrench http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222277141012 Copper grease Rubber mallet tow rope Jump leads Illumination Gloves I shall consult with the budget holder. Thanks for the suggestions, it is important to be prepared!
  11. I'm looking forward to being able to hook my phone up properly, and yes it does surprise me that it is standard I haven't got them as part of the order (nets), I assume dealer can order them in if I think they will be needed. The boot will be for our Labrador plus a few things most of the time.
  12. Thanks, any particular removal tool or are they all the same? I've been stuck once before when the locking wheel nut was totally impossible to get off, fortunately on my drive rather than on roadside.
  13. good shout - I got a spare wheel :-)... do you think I would need a bigger tyre lever, or is the kit OK for roadside changes?
  14. not sure on the SE Sport. I wanted other gismos, which were standard on SE L, the sport had retina burning lights as a fitted option (a ~£1.2k option on other levels excl VRS) which i'm not fussed about. In terms of availability, not many SE Ls in stock, I got lucky as wasn't too fussed over the colour of the vehicle, and the only extra I had was a spare wheel.
  15. Massive thanks for this, you tipped me over the edge and I placed an order today
  16. Feels like I've joined a new club. This will be my first non-Fabia car ever and my first factory new car purchase. I'm a long term Briskoda member, mosly lurking not posting, but very much a freedom member as this is the best Skoda resource on the planet. I've bagged a tiny lead time of three weeks for delivery which is pretty cool, and a cracking deal :D .... anything I need to watch out for? any pointers welcome as my first ever factory new car!! Martin
  17. sorry to see the silver lady depart. I now can look forward to hearing about DPF regens and stone chips. The new black MK2 Octavia is very nice in the flesh, makes me want to clean mine now! Looking forward to hearing about the modifications.
  18. I just read an article on TopGear website where they list the worst cars (that are on sale right now). Surprised to see the Toledo in there, the only reason they give is not exactly descriptive. Anyone else have any more background on it?
  19. Agree with this. I'm completely appalled by this dealership. They would need to strip down your fuel lines to ascertain damage which would have cost significantly more in labour than £200. By doing this, and pretty much ruining any remaining warranty they've now forced you to offload this car to another person.
  20. £5k is daylight robbery. They are cashing in on your mistake and they know they've got you in a hard position to get out of. Seek advice from Trading Standards and insist on a second opinion from your insurance company. Of course, if that ever happened to me and the bill was that much, I'd be prepared to pay for an independent specialist to prove that this dealership is wrong and take them to court.
  21. http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/1-year-old-skoda-yeti-for-immediate-sale/1048540743 Photo looks like its been lifted from an official Skoda forecourt.
  22. i'm sure he means it is a Fabia Mk2 1.... probably circa 2007/08 when the Fabia trim levels were 1, 2 and 3. 3 being Elegance and 1 being 'poverty spec' to quote the OP.
