  1. I have used Carista to enable leaving home lights only. The lights come on when I press the unlock button. I use them as coming home lights by pressing the unlock button on my key when I leave the car. The lights will stay on until you get to your door then you can simply lock the car and they go off. I also use this function as a very heavy and expensive torch during the winter months so I can go to my bins (they are right in front of my parking space). As long as your door is within the range of your RF key you'll be laughing.
  2. Just to make everyone aware, the problem has been solved. Explanation below: The Stream MP3 head unit with the aux in uses two earths in the CDC connector. One for the CD changer and one for AUX. Comparing the following two pictures I noticed that the ncXus box used the AUX earth instead of the CD earth. For some bizzare reason the Stream MP3 is different with respect to earthing points. To solve this I simply swapped the -ve pin and hey presto, proper sound!
  3. I have just had a look at the pin outs from a Stream MP3 and compared it to some other VAG head unit and have noticed that I could have an earthing problem. The ncXus box is trying to use the earth for the CD changer but on the Stream it has been swapped with AUX. Off to the car to poke around! *Whoooosh*
  4. I will keep that in mind, thanks. I just sent an email off to the manufacturers asking for a pin-out diagram so I can do some fault finding. I have tested this in my friends Audi and it works fine. Confused! Regards,
  5. Thanks Phil. The system you mentioned looks pretty good. That will be my fallback if I can't figure out this problem. Cheers!
  6. Hello all, I have recently purchased this digital music box http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BT-USB-AUX-MP3-Wechsler-ncXus-V3-Pro-Audi-VW-Skoda-12-Pin-Zufallswiedergabe-/351444712571?hash=item51d3bcbc7b and fitted it to my car but I believe that the Stream MP3 HU is being difficult. It sounds like only the high end of the sound is getting though and is only being played through the tweeters. All the functions (SD card, USB, AUX, A2DP and hands free calling) work as they should but something is clearly wrong with the sound. My question is, am I missing a step? Does the head unit need to be coded to accept this music box? I wouldn't have thought this would be required as the CDC in my car works fine. Octavia pre-fl 56 plate Stream MP3 head unit with CDC and Aux in (both work fine) Any and all help would be hugely appreciated, Regards,
  7. Thank you gentlemen all for your replies. They have been extremely helpful
  8. Hello all, I have a factory fitted removable tow bar fitted to my 56 Octavia Elegance. Everything came with the car except the key for the tow ball and the much missed instructions. My first question is, does anybody here have the same detachable tow bar type as me (http://www.skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product∏=273&menu=%C5%A0koda|Octavia%20II(A5)|Ta%C5%BEn%C3%A9%20za%C5%99izen%C3%AD&img_b=IMG_0861_1.JPG&album_adr=/album&album_start=0) with the code K05? I would much like to get a key :-) Another question about this model of tow bar is regarding the electrics. Does the trailer wiring connector swing down without the tow bar fitted or does it have some sort of locking system to prevent it swinging down if the tow bar is not fitted? Lastly, could someone explain the method for fitting? I could be wrongly assuming that it is broken by not knowing how I am supposed to fit the tow ball in the first place. :peek: Thank you for your time, Regards,
