  1. Few additions to the car this month. Had a stage 1 remap. Really pleased with the results, feels a lot more immediate on the throttle. Also got 4 new skinny tyres and wound my coilovers down. Harsh ride but looks great in my opinion. Also got the mk2 octavia badge as mine left terrible ghosting when I took it off. Also got a fresh pair of plates and holders.
  2. Hi mate, I just gently went over the trim with the gun on a medium heat and then went over it afterwards with autoglym bumper and trim gel. You can see the trim change colour as it warms up. You're basically melting it slightly so be careful not to overdo it.
  3. Bbs ch style wheels went on today. Still need to tweak the ride height a bit but overall I'm pleased with how it's coming on. Needs a wash but was blowing a gale. Next up is rear tints I think.
  4. Ok cool. I will have a look at how to secure the maf before I do anything. No point in bodging stuff up just for the sake of it but if I can make it work then it's probably worth it.
  5. That's cool. Thanks for the reply. I have an old heat shield as well as some piping so I might plumb in a bit of a cold air feed. I was just worried about the sensors freaking out at the different air mixture. I will have a play around and see how I get on. I'm giving the cone a good clean and oil so I'm sure it won't hurt.
  6. Hi guys Thinking of whacking my old k&n cone filter I've had sitting around on the vrs tomorrow and was wondering if it will affect the car in terms of warning lights ect or wether it will just bolt on with no negative consequences. Thanks
  7. Coilovers are now fitted, unfortunately I had to sell the wheels off as they didn't fit with the wider struts on the front. 8.5j and an et of 38 was pushing it anyway so I'm back on the standard 16" spiders for now. Also black wrapped by b pillars which looks really smart in my opinion. Just rear tints and wheels to get and then I will be reasonably happy with it.
  8. Hi guys, Fitted my coilovers a few days ago and accidentally threaded the rear lower bolt that holds the bottom of the shock in place(I was using an air impact wrench and got a little excited). It is holding for the moment but will need replacing. I can't be bothered to take it back out to measure it just to put it back in while I order a new one so I was wondering if anyone knows the size? I'm guessing m10 x 60mm or something similar... Cheers
  9. Got my rs6 wheels today. I know not the most creative choice but they were the right price and look clean. Coilovers are in the post so I will update later in the week when it's sitting properly on them.
  10. Braved the weather to get a few snaps earlier. Some effect editing later I think I got some cool shots...
  11. I just fitted the blades so no problems. Sorry I can't help.
  12. Put my front splitter on today and my aero wipers. Needs a clean...
  13. Cheers guys! Some really nice stuff on here. Another pic today after a wax.
  14. So I picked the car up today and am very pleased so far. It's a 2 owner car with 88k and a full skoda history. I plan to update this thread as I go along and let the pics do the talking. Hopefully you guys will like the changes! Dirty and faded.. Another angle. After I had heat gunned all the black plastic and sprayed the front grill surround. New front badge ordered. Exhaust cleaned and tow bar removed. Side view. Moving forward I'm going to be fitting a front splitter, lowering the suspension (not decided which route to go yet as I'm sick of smashing along the floor in previous cars but the arch gap is ridiculous!) and changing the wheels to something a little better than the stock 16's. I will post some more pics tomorrow when I have had chance to detail it a little more!
