  1. Right so today I continued my investigation into the noise, driving down the A1, windows open, whistle is loud and clear. As suggested I pulled in my wing mirror and the noise disappeared, I was shocked so tried it a few times and it definitely went when I pulled the mirror in. This to me meant 1 of 2 things, either firstly the wing mirror was making this noise, or 2 the way the wind was defecting off of the mirror meant it was no longer blowing in the same place hence the noise going Pulled up at my parents and looked at the mirror, bingo, found the problem, I have a stone chip hole in the indicator lense allowing air in creating a whistle! For now the hole has been filled with a tiny bit of silicone as its not to obtrusive and can't really justify a new mirror just for the tiny hole Thank you guys for your suggestions really helped Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Also I forgot to mention the problem hasn't always been there, it's only just developed over the last few months Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Apologies for the post being Generic, I didn't see that 'Diagnostics & VCDS' section had a vehicle type The car in question is a Octavia VRS Mk2 pre FL Le No sunroof fitted I haven't tried folding the mirrors in that's a good shout! And I can't see any leaves or twigs anywhere (been underneath the car to check also) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Evening lads and ladies I have one of the most basic annoying faults which before I start aimlessly purchasing new parts So at low speeds (windows up) the noise isn't really noticeable, at around 30mph is when you can really start to hear it, and volume increases with speed, but the noise pretty much triples in volume when the window is open I have looked for damage to the door, and door frame seal, I have also inspected the mirror for any debris and damage and can't find anything If anyone could shed any light on this I'd be very grateful Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
