  1. Quick update. Changed the aerial lead for an amplified double Fakra lead. Connected the blue power lead to the blue Amp lead and the radio is much, much better. Copilot is the nav app of choice, well worth the money, especially with a MiFi in the car providing traffic updates. Music app is rubbish. Using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrtstudio.music&hl=en-GB at the moment. Very fast when using with a 64 GB card quite full of music. If you use a non-built-in music app you can't use the cars steering wheel controls. Working on this. When you turn the car off it has to restart which takes about 30 seconds. Not a big problem but my old Bolero took about the same time to start if listening to music on the card. Bluetooth good. Phone app rubbish and again looking to improve. Overall I'm relatively happy as I don't mind fiddling with it. If you want a plug and play system buy a different one. But it is reasonably cheap!
  2. Just bought one off eBay for my Superb to replace a Bolero. Had to get a new facia as well. Fitting was quite straightforward, had to disconnect the airbag light but had everything off until I replaced it so no warning lights. Seems to be ok but radio is rubbish so just got a double fakra aerial lead so going to try this. Music player a bit dodgy as it always starts from the first track it can find and doesn't remember where it was last time. Screen nice, Bluetooth good and sat nav quick and the beauty of it is that you can change some of the apps. That's the next thing to do. Overall OK but has lots of potential.
  3. I paid £485 for a removable swan neck on my Superb without coding. Didn't see much point as on my previous car which had Stability control etc didn't recode there either and had no problem. Most places charge an arm and a leg for recoding. Cheapest all in price was well north of £600!
  4. Guess not then. So I'm stuck with the unit that came with the car then.
  5. Hello all. I have recently bought a Superb Hatch 170CR SE 12 plate from a Skoda dealer. Liking the car, come from a 56 plate Passat estate, and it's like a home from home. Do miss the cruise control on the Passat though, the display with either 1 or 5 MPH adjustment is great. However, I have the Bolero head unit in the car. Seems OK but has no Bluetooth or Sat nav. Been looking on Ebay at replacement units and the all seem to come from China and are about £3/400. Items like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Latest-Android-8-Car-DVD-Player-GPS-E2-Radio-Stereo-Wifi-3G-for-VW-Volkswawgen-/201312629570?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda%7CModel%3ASuperb&hash=item2edf2af342 The main thing that worries me is the facia. The head unit in the car has got a couple of controls in it as well as the passenger airbag warning light. Looks like this one http://img3.hyperinzerce.cz/x-cz/inz/5084/5084128-skoda-bolero-na-6cd-mp3-sd-novy-superb-1.jpg . Now I've heard bad things of disconnecting this light, generally requiring a visit to a dealer to reset it. How do you get arond this problem as the only videos online that I've seen don't have a car with this light on it. Any ideas?
