  1. Would be intrested to hear the results as I have recently brought a vrs tdi dsg hatch and it has an awful drone at 70mph, again the tyres don't appear unevenly worn, and I have had the 4 wheel aligment and checked and double checked the wheel bearings so when I finally get the car back from it's gearbox fault (assuming it's not from the box) I'll be looking for 4 new tyres to cross that off the list
  2. Ha ha well, I've no doubt it'll grow! I'm stripping it out tomorrow and sorting a few niggles so with get some pictures...chances are all the fixes have been covered but it always helps me seeing how different people tackle the same problems!
  3. First I'll explain about this car and how it's my project, I've owed a number of skoda's and this is my second superb. Until mid December I was driving around in a highline bora that was good but felt slightly to small and when the clutch went I needed a car in a hurry and the superb was for sale on gumtree with a short description and awful pictures but it was cheap! The only problem the owner would admit too was the drivers interior door handle didn't work, but after going to look at it I was well aware there were a lot more problems! Having paid nearly 3k for my last one I figured at the agreed price of £900 I'd have enough room to make the repairs and improvements it needed! Owning a garage has it's uses sometimes and being the 21st December and needing to do a lot of miles over Christmas it was in the ramp within hours of picking it up. Here's a little list of bits changed so far: Cambelt and water pump kit Oil cooler Temp sender All filters Front brake pads O/s/f wheel bearing O/s driveshaft Front tyres Drivers door handle cable Now with the car usable and not dropping into limp home mode because of the temp sender it needs the cooling system flushing to get the sludge out from the leaking oil cooler but has already managed to do 4K and has given my time to put a list together of other things too do. Seal pollen filter housing Upgrade shocks for b6's Upgrade front arms for Meyle hd kit Upgrade front brakes to 312mm Replace rear brakes Led front sidelights to match headlights Strip and clean interior Add more sound deadening Upgrade stereo Egr delete Replace tired engine/gearbox mounts Remap Then replace clutch when remap help lunch it! I'm fairly impatient when it comes to sorting my cars, I average about 800 miles a weekend in it and the slightest things become really annoying, it's a fantastic car and had been really well cared for till the last owner who had it for 4 years/28k and never seemed to do a thing to care for it and that includes the fact he openly admitted never having it washed in that time! Now it's mine although not great at keeping them clean I like them to be driving spot on
  4. The quest to improve a 100k car
  5. The wheels are for sale again in the forsale section! Just googled to find out what they were and this post came up!
