I should have said at uk road legal speed they were fine, but on a German autobahn at 130mph, and somebody pulls out in front of you then, I felt they were not up to the job as happened to me. In my opinion, if car can do these speeds then the brakes should be up to the job! I feel that now on my mk3 the brakes would cope much better in the same situation.

Having owned a mk11 vrs tsi I would say the brakes were inadequate when driving a bit quicker, the 340mm bakes on my current vrs are fantastic, and until now would have been the reason for buying another vrs tdi. I feel like I am now being forced to buy a performance petrol in order to get good brakes. I have also had a gtd for two weeks and after my brakes on my vrs felt inadequate.

It has had 3 seat bases, two covers on driver and passenger seat rattles interior trim coming off, button fell off hand brake, water in boot lid, that still not fixed, now radio not working right and making phone calls itself! Nothing major, but annoying all the same!

I feel like I want Skoda to take the car back and pay off my finance so I could go get another car! Don't think they will do that though!

I bought my octavia vrs in October last year, pre-registered, 3 months old with 49 miles on the clock. It has had 8 repairs in the time I have had it, and further visits for the car to be looked at and serviced. They have spent £2500-£3000 I believe. Still have one outstanding repair that has not been able to be fixed and another problem yet to discuss with the dealer. None of these issues have caused the car to break down or are engine related. Has anyone else had so many trips to the dealer or had to go to the dealer this many times in just over a year? I am now pretty hacked off with all this trouble. Like the car, hate the problems! Feel the car is not fit for purpose!

Car seat now fixed, could not find out from receptionist what had been changed though.

Dealer has ordered some parts for seat. Couldn't get the girls on the desk to tell me what parts though. Hopefully they will solve my problem.

I have noticed it in all driving modes but worse I think in Eco.

I get this too about 40 mph under light throttle.

I will consider another. I like my vrs quite a lot, picked up a pre reg 3 months old for 20k. Got a really good deal on my part ex too. I wanted a new 320d m sport but that would cost me another £100.00 on my pcp payment, so for me the cost was the main factor in buying mine. Do feel as many of you guys do though that Skoda are getting too expensive, and not really doing any good deals. Will consider other brands more than I did this time when it comes time to swap time in a couple of years.

If this is happening in a jaguar then maybe I could have this problem in any car. When I bought my octavia I was considering a bmw and I wondered if it would not be happening in a bmw, but maybe it would!

Booked the car in at dm Keith later in the month. Have to see what they say!

Had a play with the seat, and as i have the seat as far back as it will go, in this position this is where it creaks, move it forward one notch and no creaking. Ringing the dealer tomorrow. See what they say! Feel shouldn't have to accept this at such a low mileage.

I will try having a play around today with the position of the seat today, see if any joy!!
