  1. Plus it's given me something to aim for... Really appreciated the experience, forgot to thank you in all the hurry Alex!
  2. For anyone that may have any interest... Alex's fabia is nothing short of a BEAST!!! Couldn't believe what these things are capable of...!
  3. okay so how many of the LEDs etc did you order? I shall give him a PM and ask if hes made a 'how to' thread or something! thanks for the advice, and nice car!
  4. Hi mate, Really like the car! I've recently had the pleasure of purchasing an SE myself, and I REALLY like the idea of changing the dial leds to blue... How hard is it to do? is it a weekend job or? I've googled it but nothing has come up in terms of a fabia and I dont want to risk doing anything wrong without knowing for certain what to do! Is there anywhere you went to for advice or whatever?... or do you just know what your doing when it came to that modification? Thanks in advance!
  5. Just invested in a Kenwood CDC-BT48DAB which was on offer for £110 in a local halfords... Was reduced from £180 so couldn't pass it up! Excellent head unit, from what I've experienced with it anyway! Phone calls are clear on both ends also. Let us know what you decide on! Alex
  6. Hi mate, bought my vrs a week ago (I'm 20), and was getting quotes for around £1k / year, at your age... I'd strongly consider contacting bell insurance (part of the admiral group) and ask about their 'plug and drive' - it's basically a black box with no restrictions, just monitors your driving, You keep it on for 3 months, (I've got this and they dropped my insurance to 600 quid) then after the 3 months I send it back; if I've been driving like a nutter... Nothing happens, I continue to pay the 600, however if I'm on the top 55% of drivers on this scheme, however, I get a further discount! (You also get an extra 1years NCB after 10 months). Bit of a pain having to watch your driving for 3 months but tbh I've been hounding it some days and they just email you with suggestions on how to improve your driving! Hope you find something soon!
  7. Ah, it is my car then! (V.good memory might I add!) Just in case anybody else is still intrigued, I was also skeptical of this car due to the lack of 'special edition' features... When I went to view the car I checked for any reasons why it was missing such vital parts I.e leather seats & tinted rear window. amongst the receipts I found one that shows the rear window had been replaced... Presumably chipped/damaged in someway, and after further investigation, found that he (the previous owner) had indeed traded out the leather for the cloth seats. Admittedly I feel this has ruined the SE appeal, however seeing as I'm 20 and working only part time alongside studies, the fact I was able to wiggle his price down almost over a grand because of these 'defects' we shall call them... Is something that held great appeal! Love the car, and love the colour, both of which I was able to afford - with the compromise of a bit of leather and a clearer rear window! (Also of note, I contacted the skoda main customer services and asked for a chassis number, everything matches up, so there is no doubt in my mind that this is an SE... It's just not got the SE stuff anymore!!!!)
  8. Hi guys, recently joined this forum and came across this thread as a friend who is already a member highlighted it to me, does anybody know the registration plate for the car that was in that first link?! I've recently bought an SE, without the leather and which had previously had its rear window replaced (I was aware with all this and comfortable with the price) - just wondering if its my car that this thread is on about! Cheers in advance.
