I think doing 55-60mph without traffic jams I would have got the 76mpg claimed by skoda. On the way back I may or may not have broken the speed limit and may or may not have done 80mph... I done 59mpg on the way back.

The Holy Grail of mileage milestones!
-
It is. Long journey from South Wales to Blackpool averaging 55-60mph. Had it up around 76mpg but hit traffic. While mpg watching I noticed a mileage milestone!

Serious replies aside... Talking to my mate whos a foreman for a Ford dealership. He said most likely a wiring fault. Trapped wire causing resistance and varying signal. -

Close.....Picture the scene. Stormchaser is driving along listening to his favourite Celine Dion/Steps/Cheeky Girls (delete applicable) album. He comes to a particulary intense part of the song and is physically bouncing in his seat. Hence the fuel gauge moving. Well if SUK cant find a soloution. You never know?..... -

Its probably due to the radio. -
Although VAG use the same engines does each manafacturer use their own engine management on the ecu or at least tweak it to their own requirements? Or at least put their own stamp on it software speaking? Im not technically minded but my worry would be plugging the box in thats for seat, it sees skoda (although its the same ecu) and as far as its concerned its a different car completely. Be great if it did work though! Pity you couldnt get hold of it first.

Not got the Dsg but have the 90ps engine. Seen a few negative reviews about being noisy and underpowered but i think its pretty nippy? -

Rapid Spaceback 'Green Edition'
ChimpFingers replied to The Plumber's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
You wouldnt think green could be such a nice colour. -
By the looks of the instructions you'll have to remove the rear wheel to drill the one hole. I couldnt be arsed! I re-used the screws i took out and cant see those floodmaps moving at all.
-
The instructions ask you to remove the screws and use these push in things and drill for a third hole. I used the screws and didnt bother drilling. Seemed solid and took me 10 minutes to fit all 4.

£200 Skoda Cash - What would you buy?
ChimpFingers replied to Garrry's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
If your planning an upgrade to 17s at some point id grab a set of Eibachs now. If not those bars are useful, especially if your a biker. -
Is the pcd/offset uncommon on the Rapid then? I only ask as I ordered a set of Wolfrace alloys from a UK company and they had to be ordered from Wolfrace Germany. Took over a week.
