  2. Hi everyone, Made my way back to Skoda ownership, this time a 6 year old Octavia. Owned a 1.4tdi Fabia a couple years back which had insane mpg, now in a 1.4tsi so not expecting anywhere near 100mpg but I'll try my best! Andy
  3. Jolting this thread back into life, just bought a late 2017 1.4tsi Octavia hatch, and like others on here, despite the tyre pressures being at 2.2 the ride still feels too unsettled and jolty. So I'm taking the plunge and fitting the Golf rear shocks 5Q0513049CQ in the hope it makes a marked improvement. Weren't easy to find new. Because I'm a lazy sod I'm having them fitted reluctantly by my local trusted garage in a couple weeks, they don't like fitting parts they haven't sourced themselves but have made an exception. Thanks to @tamir0 and @spacenase on here who mentioned this .
  4. I'm pretty sure my 66 plate diesel SE (manual air con) has the standard r134a refrigerant as I can see the two refill service caps are black but confirmation would be appreciated. Does anyone who still has a label in their engine bay for the same model know how much g of refrigerant it says? I've found one that says 475g +/- 15g and another label that says 500g? Many thanks!
  5. Hi everyone, Just bought a 66 plate Fabia 1.4TDI with 48k miles through the Skoda approved used scheme, from dealership 3 hours from home. Really like the car overall, feels much more solid than my old Citigo. The only big difference I'm struggling to get used to is the clutch pedal. I appreciate the Citigo has a featherlight clutch but I'm finding this one on the Fabia much harder to release consistently and certainly heavier, I'm struggling to pull away smoothly but that could just be the clutch or dmf on its way out after 4 years of abuse. Quite an unrefined clunk at top of pedal travel. Maybe I just need to readjust but curious if anyone else has driven both and can compare? Perhaps the clutch in the diesels is heavier still? Don't really want to go down the warranty route especially as it would be through a different dealership but if it's a master cylinder/hydraulic fluid issue I'd rather get it sorted sooner than later.
