  2. Skoda Octavia VRS Estate MOT feb 2017 While I have owned the car I have replaced the following: Water Pump Cambelt and Tensioner the day I got it @ 115K 4 X Suspension springs Front and Rear for the MOT good Tyres all round Serviced up as per schedule all filters and spark plugs replaced 120K New coolent temp sender Thermostat OIL pickup Front Pads and Discs changed for MOT does come with original matts apart from drivers side, I have a set of generic ones covering them and seat covers to keep everything fresh. 90% Service History id say 100% but may be few gaps but not much. anyone wanting to view or offer please contact me to arrange a viewing. This is a very reliable car and is great fun to drive as a daily vehicle. It is also good on fuel, I get 34mpg out of it. For a turbo charged engine that's great. Mileage will increase as it is in use but only for 6 miles a day mon-fri. Thanks for looking much appreciated £1300 ONO thanks, 07922331380 Jamie Walker
  3. Thanks Rob at least I know I'm not wasting £400 its crazy that skoda want 400 for a standard system yet a ss system is the same price crazy. anyway thanks for everyone's Help.

  5. Surely someone on here has fitted an aftermarket one to an estate?
  6. my exhaust is pretty rotten and now hanging off, having phoned round the price of a system from skoda is pretty much the same as a miltek or a jetex so my question is are the systems for the saloon the same as the estate is there any difference between them as where i have priced it up from road runner motorsports Nottingham are concerned that it may not fit and want me to be 100% sure it fits. I'm going for a miltek non resonated system and sports cat same make will it fit ok? I spoke to skoda and they seem to think they are the same system but didn't sound too convincing?
  7. Awesome thread thanks, I believe I have an issues with this pesky sensor, didn't manifest until two days after purchase how irritating. Thanks good pics aswell.
  8. Hello everyone I have a Mk1 Octavia estate VRS 1.8T, all is well apart from one thing which I am putting down to either a faulty Stat or a faulty coolent temp sensor, serviced the car up yesterday with genuine parts and oils while I was running the engine flush in the car and getting it up to temp after about 15 mins of ticking over at idle with the car up to temp I think it was half way, the guage dropped to cold, I ignored it and carried on doing my service. later on I restarted the car one I completed the service and it was working registering fine again mmm odd I thought, took it for a spin around later last night and was registering fine for 15 mins again the dropped to cold again, then about 5 mins later it registered the temp again. same on todays outing no signs of any overheating in the bay all seems well accept the fans are going intermittently when the cars warming not Hot? I think its a temp sensor but before I replace both the Stat and the Sensor wanted a second heads up and the engine runs lovely and no jerking or anything , thought have I possibly some how caused an air lock but then I never touched the water side just a normal service. air filter, plugs, oil and filter you get the drill. I have had similar issues on cars before with temp sensors but normally registers a fault code this isn't and keeps dropping off through out my journey its quite annoying, only had it since Wednesday its having the timing belt done next Thursday along with the water pump as im not confident doing it on this engine I don't know enough about them, but I will happily change the Stat and Sensor. any advice welcomed thanks.
  9. Hello Everyone I bought my first Skoda VRS estate on Wednesday, I also own a Civic VTI-S MB6 1.8 which the head went on before Christmas I have been working on the engine and I bought a Civic Aerodeck to tied me over cheap but sadly its a bag of nails. I woke up on Wednesday Morning with a mission and went car shopping, as im self employed the green rusty and badly poly bushes (Squeeky as hell) Aerodeck was not giving me the image I wanted so its on ebay selling now and I needed a new motor. the cars I looked at were the seat leon cupra mk1 which has the same 1.8T engine but it had already sold but wasn't take off ebay stupid car sales, then it was time to look at a 1.8vvti T-Sport corolla 190bhp which had zero torque and had scratches on every panel, then finally I looked at a ST170 Focus..................Ford badge enough said. while I walked away completely disenchanted after another crap day car shopping I quickly searched ebay and saw a freshly listed VRS estate close to me in Alfreton. I shot over there and I ended up buying my black VRS estate 1.8T with full service history great body work and drove lovely im extremely impressed with its performance and its build quality, ive always wanted one since my 21st birthday holiday in Prague where they were all displayed in the air port so had a good look around them while awaiting my plane said to the missus then ill have one of them one day and so fate has it I now own one its such a nice car. Life story.............................ha ha well may aswell give some background. pictures in abit car spec: I paid £1,990 and its done 114,000 miles with service history and good body work and interiors like new I have a Dog Guard useful to keep my Boxer Puppy in check. its got a sigma alarm system according to the paper work its factory fitted? standard VRS trim and nice VRS 16" alloys also tidy. I think I paid roughly the market value of it but the chap threw in a cambelt kit and water pump so not gonna moan that's what you get from dealers they're like vampires. the cars only supposed to be a stop gap while I rebuild my CIVIC but if im honest im keeping it coz I like it so much gonna juggle them both my civics highly modded so it will be a toy this is far more practicle as a daily and better MPG if I drive sensible. I serviced it up yesterday and flushed all the sludge oil out put fresh Castrol 5/30w in it and the genuine skoda service kit from Skoda dealership in Rainworth cost me about same as OEM so I like to stay genuine if I can afford to. Plans for future possibly the Ko4 turbo and a remap, with stainless steel exhaust miltek system or summot see how I feel, not fitting a cone filter as ive tested them on dyno with my civic and they are a complete waste of money due to heat soke from the engine bay, I may just smooth out the Skoda box and put a K&N panel in, seen that makes good gains and is cheap. on my civic haven't found anything under £300 quid that can out do the Integra type R air box and K&N filter on a dyno so why bother......imagine the VRS is the same story. so that's my story Hello everyone.
