It was the starter motor in the end, mechanic replaced it.

Anyone else have any recommendations here below I tow to the mechanic?

I didn't try jumping the wire yet...is the solenoid visible/accessible without dismantling parts? In the meantime, I got a cheap ODB 2 tool and car has 4 similar codes: Next steps I can try?

When I try to start my skoda the rev dials do their little dance and the glow buld sign is flashing. When i turn key i just get a click, nothing else. Battery and terminals seem fine. various fuses look OK. I have a Ethernet-> ODB dongle thing that I used for BMW but unsure which software to use for Superb in case I can scan for faults etc... Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

it's very hard to dislodge. I ended up using a flathead screwdriver to lever it out.

hey OP, did you get Skoda to fix this? I have the same issue with water ingress into the headlamp unit and that in turn has caused the ballast to fry, but damaged little else. I was able to replace the ballast unit underneath the light for about 40GPB and a good few hours figuring how to take the front of the car off (I made a video, whihc i may post to youtube at some point). So, I have diagnosed and fixed the symptom, but have not yet figured out how the water got in there in the first place and I want to fix this aspect of it before I shut everything up again. I have taken off the headlamp unit but it's totally sealed as far as I can see and one cannot protect the ballast connector in any practical way against further ingress (should it occur again) as far as I can see. How did your repair go? Have you ever noticed condensation or moisture inside the headlights after the repair?
