  1. On our (facelift) 18 plate Citigo the rear wash wipe now doesn't work because the water pipe has fractured within the boot lid. In fact if you activate the wash wipe then the water pours out on to the parcel shelf! 😮 You can see the busted pipe next to the wiring in the 'boot' shown in the attached photo. Couldn't see much about this when searching on here but is this likely to be an easy fix or a pain? I think pain 😞 because how do you get to the pipe? Perhaps I can find some parts to join/splice it all together again? Any suggestions? Is rear wash wipe in this state an MOT failure? (Meaning do I need to get it sorted before mid March or can it wait?) Ta for any info.
  2. Anyone fitted these? Easy to do DIY or better off done by a dealer? Anyone got a decent picture of a Citigo with them on? Thinking of it for the new Citigo to try and avoid car door dings from car parks, which end up costing a fortune when you hand the car back at the end of the hire deal. Also - would they fit a 2018 model? http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Door_Mouldings_(5_Door_CitiGo)_ZGB1SL071101 Cheers.
  3. Ah I haven't frequented Briskoda for absolutely ages since being a young free single man with a Fabia MkI VRS (fabulous car!) about 12 years ago. Now older with (gorgeous) wife and family so potter about in a Citigo and a VW Touran after the VRS days and not too much time at all to spend surfing the forum. Anyway about to get a new Citigo and wanted some information and what not. Log in and lo a few searches I get all I needed to know from browsing the topics in the Citigo Owners forum on here. So thanks & cheers to you all. :-) Long live this fab community forum.
  4. My other half, who borrowed the car, was running a flat on the rear for 15 miles or so at 70mph... Must have picked up a puncture right at beginning of journey as I checked the tyres beforehand! Lucky... apart from the fact that I'd no spare in the car at the time only the rim (sod's law huh!) Still the AA sorted it out by trailer to nearest tyre place.
  5. You can download the manuals for the Fabia's radios from following the links in the sticky at the top of the Fabia forums...
  6. I had mine (06 plate) re-gassed about 8 months ago at the dealer as it wasn't doing the job last summer and it's the same again now it's hot again, useless! Originally the air-con on all the three Fabias I've owned - none with climate control just the manual adjust type - has been fridge like. I'm going to take it to an independent garage next week.
  7. Out of interest, would an adult be comfortable in the centre back seat of a Superb if there were two child seats either side? For say an hour long journey at most? This doesn't appear to be the case in an Octavia, I couldn't sit and I'm thin, and certainly not so in my Fabia. Ta for any thoughts.
  8. [quote name='softscoop' date='09 June 2010 - 22:20' timestamp='1276118454' post='2010508' hope that makes sense Thanks for that I like the switch box idea...
  9. I have a new widescreen monitor that has a VGA and a DVI input. What I want to do is connect the computer to it via DVI and also provide an additional HDMI connection as well for connecting a Flip Ultra-HD camcorder. Doesn't need to be electronically switched or anything fancy as will only be looking at the computer or the Flip output, not both together. I thought it might be easy to buy some sort of splitter but now there appears to be various DVI connectors (-I, -D etc etc) and male/female HDMI and so on, loads of them on eBay and Amazon Anyone got a handle on this and point me in the right direction for what cables I need? The monitor has a female (ie holes) DVI socket on it, as does the computer. Stop press - found a male-male DVI cable in the monitor box. I guess I want this but with a HDMI connector halfway down the lead if you see what I mean. Ta for any help
  10. Oh I do hope this will be as good as the original film... http://www.program-glitch-esc.net/ I like the bit in the dusty arcade, be cool to find something like that in real life Remember insisting to my Dad that we went to see Tron rather than ET, so much better!
  11. Thanks we got a TomTom One and it does exactly what we want
  12. With a TomTom One or TomTom Start, is it possible for it to generate a list of the planned route on the screen before you set off, bit like the driving instructions you get if using theaa.com or Google maps. If not do any sat navs let you see what it's planning on something other than a map view? Ta for any info
  13. newly married, woo hoo!

  14. Thanks all, in the end I've used http://www.fotki.com/ Fotki allows direct email upload into albums, which is by far the easiest way for people to add photos without faffing around with logins and/or uploading gadgets dialogue boxes and the like. You can easily password protect an album to keep it semi-private. It does also allow FTP download as well so we can get a copy of everything. Hurrah.
  15. I'm after about 200 odd decent rocket balloons. Anyone got any recommendations as to where to get some? Before you all shout 'Google it' have tried that and bought a few to try and they were rubbish, couldn't blow them up even with the pipe . Hence the 'decent' bit. Easy to blow up and when released fly like the wind screaming like a banshee is what we're after. So anyone actually got any recommendations for a source? Cheers
  16. Hello all, it's nearly time for our big day (hurrah) but one of the tasks I have from SWMBO is to sort out a method whereby the wedding guests can upload their digital pictures from their cameras, while also being able to look at what everyone else has uploaded. I guess what we want is something akin to a FTP server set so that anyone with the username and password can upload to, but not delete from, and then also something that will generate thumbnails of the FTP folder's contents on a web page so they can be viewed. Can run a FTP server through work on one of the spare Windows 2003 machines, we do this for some files for clients using Bulletproof FTP. I have a domain name I can point at the FTP server too. The trouble is the thumbnail bit, how to do that? Or am I totally wrong in the method of how we might do this? I had a very quick look at photobucket and others but they all require you to sign up, don't want to force everyone at the wedding to create an account on there etc as it just makes the process more complicated. Anyway, all thoughts welcome. 32 days to go... ;-)
  17. Someone I know had intermittent problems like this with a router (can't remember the brand). The router used to run warm, and just to see they cut a hole in the top of the plastic case and installed a small fan hung off the DC power in, problems all went away!
  18. According to the Moneysavingexpert forum there is a £10 buffer limit on the new Halifax regime to ensure you don't get charged for being, say, 1p overdrawn. NatWest and RBS (both the same bank group) do a £100 interest free buffer zone overdraft. Santander (Abbey/Alliance Leicester) have 0% interest free for the first year. I think the NatWest have it right, sometimes direct debits etc can catch you by a few quid at the end of the month especially if they are quarterly like BT Broadband.
  19. Thanks for the heads up on that, as someone said actually better than the usual efforts!
  20. If you are thinking of upgrading the i7 CPU at a later date I would look out for the i7 based motherboards as Intel have just changed the form factor of the latest i7 cores. The first ones were LGA 775 but the newer ones are LGA 1156. So if you want a LGA 775 it might be obsolete with no upgrade path available. But then if you went direct to the i7 it looks a bit of beast of a CPU so should last for ages without upgrading (so long as you not playing games on the PC, which seem to really drive the hardware requirements). IMHO wait until after Xmas for PC purchasing, Windows 7 is out then and everyone's pricing should be lower to reflect the i5 release and the new pricing for AMD systems. HTH
  21. Here is the IET info sheet on PAT. http://www.theiet.org/factfiles/health/hsb34c.cfm?type=pdf Note that it is up to 'the management' of the firm to apply a suitable scheme for PAT checks, there's no legislative requirements on timeframe other than a 'it should be checked every x' where 'x' is suitable for the equipment's use. You can contact the IET for help in that respect, contact details at end of their info sheet. Also the HSE advice on this area is here. Maintaining electrical equipment safety We do ours in house having had two guys go on a course paid for by a grant as far as I know, most cost effective in our opinion. HTH.
