A little job for the afternoon; An intermittant high level brake light. The old one had three LEDs out and the cover fell off during removal. The gen replacement looks much better!

That brings us up to date today. I'd been noticing some uneven wear between the front pads and could feel some vibration in the pedal. So I took the plunge and ordered some new discs and pads. I couldn't find much in the way of walkthroughs for the VRS brakes so I can put up some more details if required. The old ones were pretty shot! A pretty easy job, the brake reqind tool was a great timesaver and should be useful for the rears. All nice and shiny! Forgot to get a pic with the pads on too!

Next up, One night at work I thought I'd add some rear parking sensors. £15 off eBay and been faultless so far! Wired into the rear lamp cluster and installed next to the CD changer. Not quite the right colour, but they are only a friction fit so should be easy to sort with a rattle can of raceblau when I get around to it!

Hi guys, i have just just bought a used Octavia VRS TDI with the BMN engine. The car seems to have a bit of a rough idle and I think it cut out whilst driving yesterday. Started up again fine and been fine since. Having done research on here and on the 'net, these were due a recall back in 2012ish which is well documented on here. I can't find any reference to the 23H9 recall in the service history or book and there are no recall stickers under the boot floor. Having spoken to SUK customer service online, they say it's not flagged for the recall but can't tell me when it was done. does anyone have any experience of the recall this far on from the original dates?

People keep confusing the Bluetooth/USB smartphone integration with mirrorlink. The two are completely separate. Almost any smartphone should should allow you to make calls, stream music etc obviously including Apple products. Mirrorlink allows mirroring of your phone screen on the bolero screen. Two separate systems...

Mine is somewhere between the factory and here but still on for July delivery!

I'm guessing it's similar to other keyless systems. So of course it might lock but will also unlock instantly as well as the key is near the car!

How did you lock it?
