  1. Same linkage as mine. Item number 30 on that diagram is what I bought (it's the main moving part of the entire linkage) and fitting that solved a lot of my gearchange issues and tightened up the lever quite considerably. The top "bar" is more a support bar so doesn't actually wear a huge amount. With the multiplication aspect of the actual gear change rod, a small amount of free play at the gearbox end very quickly translates to a lot of free play at the gear lever end. My recommendation would be to change item 30 - part number 6U0711151A (£32.84 + VAT retail) and you'll also need a new roll pin - part number N10439701 (£0.64+VAT retail).
  2. Going back a long way in my soggy memory here - the Blackline was a "limited edition" Skoda Favorit, basically based around the GLXiE, so trim and equipment levels as per that model, but with the addition of black paint and (IIRC) a gold pinstripe. It was only produced for a little while BUT my memory seems to recall it being later than 1993 - I had a 93 Favorit many years ago and don't recall the black ones being around then - they were more around 1995 - towards the end of the production run (other, "limited edition" models, again from memory, were the Silverline and "CD" models around the time that the Favorit was being phased out and the Felicia introduced). As to whether it is "worth" substantially more than a standard car, frankly, I'd have my doubts unless it really is an absolutely mint, completely rot-free example. They're not quite at the "collectible classic" stage yet, unless absolutely 100% mint condition, rot-free, low mileage and with a decent SH.
  3. uma1998 - if you want any of these parts for your Fun, just shout - I don't live that far from Medway and can collect and store for you.
  4. What do you need? The whole gearchange rod? Still available from Skoda in the UK, no problem at all - I've just bought (and installed) one - cost was around £38 IIRC.
  5. Well, for anyone still following this thread, the problem is now resolved. With thanks to not only Ricardo for putting us on the right track, but uma1998 too for actually fixing it. Ricardo, when we got the dash out again, my plug was exactly as per your original picture - with pin 7 actually devoid of any cable, or pin. We discovered (by using a temporary jumper cable) that earthing this pin 7 made the airbag light behave exactly as expected, so uma found a length of wire of the correct colour from an old loom, already attached to a pin, and installed and earthed it. At long last, the airbag light does exactly what it is supposed to do! Thanks to all for assistance and input.
  6. The only caveat I'll warn you of with the early Felicia's is that the crank nose (and thus the pulley) are different between early and late cars - the PAS "kit" from, say, a 1999 1.3 will not fit a pre-facelift 1.3 - as uma and I found out the hard way! I suppose one way around it would be to create some sort of "hybrid" system, utilising an electric pump from something like an early Saxo, which would do away with the need to fit the crank pulley, different alternator, water pump and all the other engine gubbins.
  7. Not trying to flog off the stuff that's in my MIL's garage, are you????
  8. Thanks, everyone, for your advice. Ricardo, I haven't yet checked the item you suggested because the car is my DD and I won't get time to strip out the dash again until probably next weekend. I will certainly check the plug you mention then and report back. The airbag control unit on mine appeared to be OK when the coding was checked (that was a thought that had come up in my mind, too). I've got to reinstall the scanning software on my laptop over this weekend, anyway (I think I cocked up the last install), so will re-scan and clear the errors again over this weekend - that said, this was something we both did on the day as well, when the light refused to go out. I don't know the brand of the airbag or the ACU - we did fit a later airbag to mine, but I would have thought this would log a fault if the airbag was not the one expected. Every other part of the dash, every instrument, every light bulb, every other warning light works absolutely perfectly and exactly as expected which is why this one light refusing to play ball is quite infuriating. My gut feel suggests this could be a faulty dash panel itself because the light remained illuminated even with the ACU unplugged. However, I'd like to be absolutely certain before I condemn a part that contains something I wanted as an upgrade - the rev-counter. Uma - I know I need to come up to you to sort this. I didn't want to waste your time if this turns out to be something that I can do myself and resolve. I also recognise that the rare weekends off call that you get (I used to be on call most weekends myself, so understand the need to take a break) are valuable family time. This does limit our opportunities to meet somewhat!
  9. Yes. Mine had a single airbag (drivers) and the donor car had two (driver and passenger). My airbag ECU was the one used - the only change to mine was the physical dash panel and circuit board.
  10. 1.3LXi, 1997, 112,800-ish at the moment (and rising as in daily use). Recent new engine mounts and gearbox mount (genuine parts), replacement front struts from a MK2, Rally Red, 5 owners from new. Limited history before my ownership but full history from my ownership with it (inc. fuel consumption data). Two quality front tyres recently fitted (and one mid-range tyre only yesterday when I picked up the remnants of a knife blade in a supermarket car-park!). Arch covers fitted (arches were fully rubbed down and treated with red oxide primer before these were fitted to keep tinworm at bay), SLXi Velour interior fitted. GLi Alloy wheels. No PAS (couldn't fit that from the donor car due to detail differences between the engines) but not really an issue to be honest. No central locking, no electric windows or mirrors. Rev counter fitted. Virtually rust-free underneath - documentary evidence of brake pipes being changed approx 7 years ago, front to back. In very good condition considering it's year. As always with a Felly, ultra-reliable and very economical - I see 37-38mpg daily out of the car and that's mainly urban driving! Slight lacquer peel on the bonnet and (at the moment, but I will endeavour to fix this if the car is sold) the airbag light is on (suspected dash fault). Holler if you need to know any more details!
  11. Here's one for you electrical experts to get your teeth into, as it's flummoxing me! Pre-FL MK1 Felicia Estate, 1997. A (knowledgable) friend and I were doing some running repairs and upgrades to the car, and I mentioned that I'd really like a rev-counter - and the (MK2) donor car had one! Cut a long story short, we ended up keeping my speedo, temperature gauge and fuel gauge and otherwise transplanting the MK2 dash into my MK1. Mine is a 1.3LXi, the donor was a 1.3GLi. However, the airbag light is permanently illuminated with the ignition on and will not extinguish. No faults logged in the airbag ECU and the car's been scanned with VAGCOM a number of times. Unplug the airbag ECU and this infernal light still shines brightly! All other warning/information lights and gauges work absolutely perfectly. Is there a difference between a pre- and post-facelift dash panel, or is it possible that my donor car had a faulty dash panel, causing this light to stay permanently illuminated? I'm happy that the airbag system is operational (based on the VAGCOM scan) but, of course, the light being illuminated is an MOT fail in the UK these days so I'd like to correct this ASAP. Any advice, please?
  12. There's a 1.3 MK2 on a V plate up for sale near to me - dark green coloured hatch. Dealer's asking £295. However, parked outside my house at the moment is a pre-facelift 1.3LXi Estate, with the 68bhp MPi engine. I don't really want to part with it, but would do to another enthusiast who's going to help her go on to live a long and fruitful life..... My only need is for a vehicle that will be able to permanently carry a wheelchair, so the Felly hatch, nor the Fabia hatch are any good for me.
  13. I'm breaking a 1998 1.3 GLi. Fusebox is already out of the car and appears undamaged.
  14. Personally, I always use the mid-range products from my local factor - the brand is APEC. I've used them, thus far, on a Volvo S60, Merc C-Class, Vauxhall Corsa and a Fiat Stilo and all the owners have mentioned how "good" the brakes are afterwards. Haven't (yet) got a set for the Felicia, but they're on my "buy" list as part of a refresh of the front brakes on mine when funds allow. My only experience with the "cheaper" brands was with Eicher on the Volvo and Merc. In both cases, I would advise you to avoid as they were noisy pads, wore quickly, made the wheels as black as anything after a very short distance and never really gave a good "feel" to the pedal. Don't get me wrong, they worked, and for the money, they got us out of trouble temporarily (and passed the MOT), but I'd never use them again unless absolutely desperate. In terms of discs, I would say that they are all, basically, consumables. I would imagine that the cheaper ones may be more prone to warping, owing to the different composition (that's about the only place I can see a manufacturer could cut the cost on such a product) and, I suspect, will wear very quickly. Apec are listing the Felicia in their range of discs : DSK247 - http://www.apecbraking.co.uk/catalogue/frictionParts/range/friction-2459 - average price seems to be under £30 including VAT and delivery, for a pair. HTH
  15. From what you have said there, I think you need to take it back to the garage that did the work and suggest that they correct their mistake - it sounds to me as though the bottom (crank) timing gear may have slipped slightly because the crak pulley may not have been refitted/torqued correctly.
  16. I've just realised that you're looking for 1.6 parts. Mine's a 1.3 Mpi! Sorry.
  17. If it's any help, I have a 1999 Mk2 Felicia in a garage that I'm breaking for spares.....
  18. I have all the air filter/throttle body parts, as well as the gearbox. Gearbox felt pretty sweet and tight from what I remember of testing it before it was towed back, and the air intake pipes are all OK and unsplit.
  19. Hi, Sorry to jump in on this thread, but I have a Mk2 Felly in a garage that I am breaking at the moment - and it's fitted with a sunroof that looks to be in decent condition and leak free! Are you still in need of said sunroof or surround?
  20. I'm breaking a Mark2 Felicia if you still need this part....
  21. Hi all, New member here. Needs must, and my old faithful Merc decided to become uneconomic to repair over the weekend, so the hunt was on for a replacement car. Many years ago (in my mis-spent youth) I had not only an old Estelle, but later a couple of Favorits and, later still, a Felicia 1.9D. It would be fair to say that Skoda held a special place in my heart (my late father had two Estelles, one of which I inherited when I was 17) Spotted an advert in Autotrader for a Felicia Estate locally, at a dealers, for a mere £440 so the credit card got taken for a walk down there. 1997, 1.3LXi Estate, 93,000 miles on the clock, MOT to July 2015. A quick test drive round the industrial estate and a look underneath at the (fairly rust-free, considering the year) chassis was all the convincing I needed. "Sally" (as the wife named her) came home with me a couple of hours later! So far, a couple of hundred miles later, I'm very pleased. Took a bit of getting used to with no PAS (I've been spoilt, clearly!) but the road noise from what appears to be Chinese ditchfinder tyres is going to be an issue, I feel, at the moment (no radio, either, yet) - unless I've got a b*ggered bearing somewhere, but I don't think so. Link to advert here, for those who'd like to see her in all her glory (I've cleaned her thoroughly since these were taken)... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201503201904696/sort/default/make/skoda/radius/5/channel/cars/page/1/postcode/da26bw/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/price-to/1000/usedcars?logcode=p
