Well..so far they kept in contact every 2 days spot on. Anywayt have decided to get a Sat Nav for about £130 and they'll refund me. I probably won't keep the car for too long anyway and it's not worth the stress Best luck to all in sorting your issues !

update- After my complaint to both Skoda and the dealer I have been offered obviously the Garmin navigator or £115 compensation. Have received about 3 calls all from Skoda, no calls from the dealership. Today Skoda called to let me know that the sales rep that worked at Johnson's Skoda doesn't work there anymore and that at no time did Skoda ever say that Mirrolink is compatible with Iphones or that it will be. Therefore they wouldn't offer the Kenwood add an box or at least not without any compensation from me. I stated that this was repeatedly told to me by the dealership sale representative : That Mirrorlink will work with iphones in the immediate future ( months) after an update will be released. I have been provided with false and worng information and therefore i shouldn't have to pay anything & also Mirrorlink is no longer receiveing any more updates ( as they stated when launched). So told them that it should be with the dealership or Skoda to pay for the Kenwood ..in no circumstance it would be me. She will get back to me today or Wednesday !

Hi all, Just logged my complaint with Skoda Customer service and my dealership as well - Johnson's Skoda - Birmingham. Skoda Service have been very unhelpful and have have replied from the very beginning of the call that they do not or cannot offer compensation of any kind as I did not have an android phone when i bought the car. They have said that because I had an iPhone at the time of purchase of the car I will not be eligible for compensation or as they say goodwill compensation. It's like they're doing it out of the goodness of their heart and giving me compensation not that there is fault with the car. ****ing idiots. Also the reason for my complaint is that when we went and got advice and signed for the car- our sales assistant actually said fully convinced that there will be an update latter this summer-autumn and mirrolink will be compatible. 1000% confidence. So obviously we believed him. Hope to get a Kenwood fitted to my car. I have also logical with my dealership and they have said that they have just had another one of these last week and it was sorted although after long time. I'm really quite unhappy with it I know it has taken me ages for me to actually file a complaint but hopefully something will will come out of it really not bothered with what.

Hey Pab567, Any chance you can put in a link here or in a private message with what unit you bought and from where? Might be interested in this.. Would the install of this system be difficult? Do you need to go to a garage/dealer? ..ooo.. and my Fabia is on finance, if I want to give it back and get a new one ..i would have to put the old unit back , correct? Let me now cheers

@kevrs16 - Can I just ask out of curiosity, how long did it take until they made you this offer? I mean, can you approximate, how many calls, email etc did you have until this came along? I am trying to decide if this is the path that I should take as well, although ..not sure I want to loose too much of my time, stressing myself out and talking with idiots on the phone. This Fabia is my last Skoda as well :(

I sent this to BBC. Hope its good enough : Hi, On behalf of myself and many many other Skoda the New Fabia owners, here goes: First time ever emailing you so here goes. After the launch of the New Skoda Fabia a lot of us early owners of the cars are feeling really left out. Without any notice or information before hand skoda has updated their infotaintment system to support apple car play and android auto for all new skoda fabias after build week 22. So if for example you ordered a skoda with Bolero system on it before week 22 if the build date for your car would have been after week 22, then you would automatically get their new system which includes gps navigation and obviously the much wanted and needed Apple car play/ android auto. The cars built before week 22 with Bolera systems have Mirrorlink compatibility which unfortunately is compatible with a handfull of phones. Skoda dealers have presented to myself and other ( search Briskoda forums for infor on this) that Mirrorlink would be compatible with iphones either from very start or with an update this summer. Skoda also had very misleading information on its website making you believe that full compatibility and mirroring of your phone no matter of the brand would be possible. The only thing that it made clear was that the apps to be mirrored had to be Skoda certified. I have ordered my car on the 24 of March and it was built on week 19, so I am among the plenty of owners who are very unhappy with the promises, false & misleading information presented by skoda and it's dealers. While the car is great to run and i'm happy with it, the mirrorlink compatibility was for me ( and maybe many others) a kick towards the right direction in choosing to buy this car over the competition. If you search Briskoda.com forums and many other, you will find that a lot of users are very unhappy with this and that we are not being told anything. Skoda customer services only knows that cars built after week 22 will receive updates for their Infotainment systems but doesn't / won't comment on cars built pre week 22. They also offer different "stories"/ answers to the same questions which leaves us to think they are very well in the dark as well. Skoda UK facebook page has been visited as well bh many customers chasing an update on this issue with the only answers being :"we are chasing and update for you on this" or " we're still looking into this for you". We all find it very frustrating to find out that our cars ( a model which has hit the market for less than a year) have been all but forgotten. Myself for example have only been driving the care for 1 week now. With no possibility to upgrade to the new version, no software updates and most of all no specific clear answers to our questions. For a company that prides itself with great customer service, Skoda has really let us down. You can not sell a car saying all that you are in the advertising, promising updates to the infotaintment system and then deciding that it's time to just, not. I am writing this with the hopes that maybe you will pick up on this, search and collaborate what I/other customers are saying and do something about. We need to be heard! Evening all, Correct me if i'm wrong but when going to check compatibility of devices on skoda website , i could hardly find any phones ) which will work with Bolero Mirrorlink. PLus I can see that after you select New Fabia 24/08/2014 built after, it asks to select between the Amundsen/Bolero and Swing. So doesn't this basically mean that the bolero unit and amundsen unit are one and the same? Otherwise I guess there would have been three options : Amundsen - Bolero - Swing. I think what's more annoying now is that they keep postponing updates on this. At least if I would know already what I can do..then I would probably jailbreak it

VC_10 , i'm guessing you would plug your very own apple certified cable in the USB input just under the Bolero. I know that's what i did and no.. mirrorlink didn't work ) freaking skoda :(

Pressure was already 2.4 on all. I left it like that. Even the way it is, suspension and drive are still 100% better then the old 53 reg corsa i had before )

Maybe it's just me. Yeah it feels like it's a diesel but regarding sound i can say that it pretty much sounds like a diesel at well. I'll post a video so you can hear soon , today

After grtting my fabia on Thursday and reading the manual, I will do as suggested: use 99 or over. By the way; it's 1.2 90 hps petrol but as i never had a new car, I'm curious as to why the engine sounds like a diesel one? Is it because it's brand freaking new?

Yes Happycatphil, yes Mick.. That's what i'm saying as well. It should work with iphones. All i care is sat nav as well , when i read the brochure and was documenting online one of the things i love was that it said it works with iphones that had ios 7xx or over and would work only with approved skoda apps. Amongst which there was sygic as well which is the one i use and have extras bought on it as well like traffic etc. now to find out that it doesn't work with iphones at all, very misleading jnformation and contradictory as well. Dealer said jt would work when we signed and ordered it, bow they say the don't know anything for sure. Skoda stopped replying on facebook, customer service uk on the phone doesn't know anything other than the ones after week 22 work wirh all phones. All is great for skoda, ir just sucks for us. Yes i can connect to Bluetooth and use it to make call, play my music, has a brilliant mic integrated but hey that's exactly what i could do on my previous 2003 corsa after I bought an £65 media player with mic incorporated. Had a special call button, call list etc plus access to siri. So i'm guessing the knoy fancy thing we've got with smartlink is the big screen because apart from that, Media wise it's stupid, more stupid then a £65 media player from halfords. Anyone, i vented enough. It seems the media is in their pockets. Nobody is writing anything about this. Nobody cares. Lets just hope some poor ass engineer/code writer has a heart and manages to give us the same functionality through a software update. I son't want their Amundsen sat nav, which is shiet by the way Call me whatever..i'm ****ed

Hey. I know it's going to be 2 funny questions bur here goes: I got delivery of my new fabia and not sure if, it is possible to fold the external rear view mirrors? I tried pulling a bit a little but kind of scared i'll break them. In the manual it says you can. Input? & the 2nd one. My fabia is manual gearbox, any chance I could change this to a DSG in the future? Do they only change the gearbox or all together with engine? And i don't guess you would know how much it could cost? Thanks guys!

Got my SKoda fabia built week 19. (May) . It has mirrorlink obviously and no, it doesn't work with iphones. Yet. The dealer says that some rumours say an update will be made available this summer for iphones to work with Mirrorlink. Maybe true, maybe not, but the car is fantastic

Picked up yesterday at 10:00 from Jonson's skoda, Birmingham The new Skoda Fabia SE L 90 1.2 TSI Corrida Red 16" alloys Electric windows Heated seats p.s. 6 Miles on the clock, but have to see it's either the engine is weird ..but it definitely sounds like a diesel engine . I wonder what's up with that? PICTURE OF CAR Can't post pics yet :( EDIT: Ordered on the 24th March Got Build date week 19 I think? Week starting 4th of May Car was finished being built on the 5th. Thursday 7th May in port in Germany waiting to be shipped Thursday 14th May had arrived in Grimsby port UK Wednesday 20th May Was at the dealer Went to see it on Thursday and picked up on Friday 22nd May :clap: & btw- the options with automatic lock of doors after driving off and audible notification of car locking/alarm are not enabled by default and can't find them in settings. Therefore if you want them make sure you get the dealer to do it for you when you pick it up. Should only take 5 minutes.

Spoke with Skoda customer services today as well. My car will reach the port at Grimsby tomorrow. Unfortunately I have an iphone and I asked them about mirrorlink not working with Iphones, which he confirmed. I asked if there is any chance of an upgrade be it free or chargeable after i get my car to get the Smartlink and was told they don't have the information. It might be possible, it might not. Bottom line is AT THE MOMENT Skoda customer services - be it by phone facebook or twitter - don't know anymore then we do. We need to wait for the end of this month probably for an official statement from Skoda. On the other hand pretty happy with the fast delivery ! Take care all and don't stress too much on mirrorlink. byeee

Hey Fabialous How long did yours take to get from EU port to dealer? Mine was in the port last friday ..kind of excited and it seems nobody is dicussing lead times etc anymore
