  1. I've not got a box on my sportline but I had a DTUK box on my Octavia VRS that I had previously. It was amazing and I had nothing but praise for staff at DTUK.
  2. ive got a 2018 Sportline 220 Tsi. I've got heated seats but I had to add them as an option along with heated windscreen. Worth the extra IMO.
  3. No they're not as cheap in my opinion although there are still some deals around. I pay £262 For my superb that's with a £3k down payment I had an Octavia vrs in 2015 that I paid £220 but I only paid £1500 up front. Could have got it for £199 if idn gone for manual gearbox.
  4. That was my initial thought, however I checked the log yesterday (I'm in the job) and it was received as a 999 call at the police control room. The system obviously has major benefits in the circumstances of an accident where the driver is unable to contact emergency services. But used as a method of contacting them in an emergency it just seems you're adding a middle man into the equation which slows things down. (the only real plus was the police knew exactly where I was when I activated it)
  5. It improves the throttle response and hold the gears longer. Yes if you plant your foot in normal mode it will still fly but I find you don't need to plant your foot as much in sport mode to get the same response. Definitely feels quicker, even though the power output is the same in either mode.
  6. Had cause to push this last night as I was driving home from work at 2am. Drunken idiot walking in lane 1 of the motorway which was coned off, throwing cones Into the live lanes. My experience of the service is not great. It was answered by a friendly gentleman who asked what the emergency was. I told him what id seen and asked him to connect me with the police......I was put on hold!! For close to 5 minutes when I was then put on a conference call with the police. Lesson learnt, if you're able to, dialling 999 is much faster in my opinion. Anyone else had any experiences with it?
  7. I ordered my 220 dsg sportline in December last year. Took delivery end of April this year. But I do believe their is now quite long waits for any petrol engine superb. You'll love it when it arrives
  8. I did mine direct through the main dealer financed by vwfs. Every lease company I looked at was more expensive
  9. Definitely get it checked. I can thrash my 220 and it still stays at 30mpg I easily get 38-40mpg on my 12mile trip to and from work which is motorway and normal roads
  10. I'm only using the standard pedal box. I have it on sport +2 Amber light with 2 presses on the + button. I had the same setting on my Octavia Vrs it's nice and progressive and works well with my setup (2.0 TSI 220 with dsg)
  11. Not sure. I think you can go on the connect portal and request a renewal price when you're nearing the end of your current subscription
  12. As per this post, the screw it highlights is an earthed screw. I followed this guide to fit my dashcam which I took from my Octavia. It works a charm.
  13. My understanding is the safety systems or the cars ability to call emergency services in a crash etc lasts for a number of years. The 'nice to have' features such as news, weather, petrol prices, car park prices, ability to see where car is parked etc is only 12 months and needs to be paid for once expired. Could be wrong though
  14. I think it can. I don't ever get this notification. I haven't a clue how I switched it off though!
  15. Roof bars usually use standard lock barrels. Have a look on the lock barrel for a 3 digit number. That number will relate to the key that opens it. If it's a Skoda accessory then Skoda parts may be able to source the right key
  16. Do you have a link to the seller on eBay you got the latch covers from? I like them
  17. Your pedal box will swap straight over. I have one and I spoke with DTUK who said it would. No issues and works fine. I also had a tuning box for the TDI which is obviously not compatible. I'm happy with the performance of the 220 as standard so won't be looking to add a tuning box to it. They look like a bit more difficult to fit with having to connect part of the harness to the bottom of the engine, which requires the car to be jacked up.
  18. I went from a 184bhp TDI mkiii octavia Vrs but it was DSG not manual. I'm now in a 220 TSI superb sportline DSG. I love it. The engine is fantastically smooth and suite the DSG gearbox perfectly. The only thing I miss from the Octavia is it's agile handling. The superb is a lot softer in the bends. Other than that the superb is a totally different league over the Octavia. A definite upgrade that I for one don't regret.
  19. Alan_p is clearly right on the money with his earlier question.
  20. Who's talking about driving on a track? I'm pleased for you and your trophies!! As for me, no, I'm no driving god, I'm just highly trained and good at my job.
  21. I'd love to do more training. Unfortunately there is no other courses available to improve my driving skills further. I'd love to be as insightful as you, maybe that would help.
  22. Really? I drive over a thousand miles a week, and have advanced driver training higher than anything IAM or ROSPA can provide. I quite often have to use the power of the vehicle I am in to drive myself out of a situation caused by other drivers failing to react appropriately. That makes me an idiot does it?
  23. It is true that a 1.0 car got you there at the same time as a 2.0 would have. However I prefer to have the 170+surplus bhp at my disposal should I need it to get me out of any sticky situations. Horses for courses
