  1. Mine did exactly this when battery died. would start fine first thing then after driving if i stopped at a petrol station it wouldn't start unless bumped. Did this for a few weeks until one cold morning where the battery had completely failed and i couldn't get it started at all.
  2. I have exactly the same issue on mine so will be interesting to see if you cure it. I was going to wait till the warmer weather and remove headlining to see where it leaks from.
  3. I might be wrong but i think Carista does'nt work on a mk1. Im also pretty sure any bluetooth or wireless dongle will be fine (i use a wireless dongle which cost about £7 on amazon)
  4. Assuming you have a smart phone. You can buy a cheap obd2 reader from the internet that links to your phone via wireless or via bluetooth. Handy little tool to keep in the ashtray/glovebox etc. Not as in depth as VCDS but can get you a better understanding of what the codes are. I replaced my MAF after having similar symptoms with a bosch refurb unit from a local motorfactors on exchange basis and its been great ever since.
  5. I don't think it should with belt plugged in.
  6. The chimes are just a reminder to put your seatbelt on.
  7. I think these are the ones I bought. They are definitely brighter, I will try and take some pictures if I get a chance. The listing is for 10 so I bought 20 and for £1.98 can't complain at that price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-T5-286-White-LED-Wedge-Car-Dashboard-Dash-Speedo-Cig-Lighter-Lamps-Bulb-Auto-/331360821773?hash=item4d26a4e20d:g:WLMAAOSwSdZWe8Oz
  8. I had one of mine blow a few months back and replaced all with led bulbs which I got for a few pound from china.
  9. Well I bought myself a regulator off of eBay and now have a working electric window for the first time in 18 months.. When I removed motor off the old one the cables were like a birds nest around the gear on the motor. Also anyone doing this remember to reconnect doir release cable before refitting door card
  10. That's the post I saw too was just looking for it but octyal beat me to it
  11. On the Facebook group ovrsoc I saw that exact car. I believe a lady called Sarah phelan owns it..
  12. Well after owning my octy for 18 months thought I would finally investigate why the rear passenger window has never worked.. It clicks when buttons pressed on drivers door panel but no power to rear door. So I took off the rear door card which was easier than I expected and this is what I found.. I'm thinking the regulator is knackered and it's been bodged rather than repaired.. The reason for no power was it wasn't even plugged in and now I know why. Any ideas?
