Welcome to the forum but you have posted in the wrong sections, better in the octavia section.

Silver and metallic can look darker if the paint is loaded on too quickly the metallics bunch up, and as above the angle can affect the outcome, silver is a hard colour to match hence if you only painted a wing the rest of the side would look different.

Quite rare round my way, joys of scottish winter rotting them away to nothing lol
-
Strange as i find mine drives very well, something cant be right with it, does it have original wheels on it as when i got mine it had 17"s and it was horrendous to drive, back on standards now was the best thing i done to the car, i love mine but the fact i cant put a towbar on it is forcing me to think about selling :(
-
Replaced wheel bearing - now juddery brakes.

Bearings on my car have been the bain of my life, the previous owner was having them pressed in so both failed, they must be fitted with a gen 2 puller and good quality bearing units or they will fail in no time, sounds like its been forced in on a press as garages cant be bothered buying the proper tooling. -
Sounding like the alternator is on the way out :(
-
Could be the clutch pully at the end, quite common on them, will be easy to tell when the belts off, new replacements are about 50-60 from a auto parts store.
-
Normal fabia vrs one fits fine.
-
Easy enough to paint if you cant find a set, i was just lucky at the time but would have taken any onld set lol
-
Yip mk1 audi tt 225 need the calipers carriers and discs, your old discs are tiny hence the upgrade, can also use mk1 octavia vrs, thats where mine come from so kept the green look
-
Ive just replaced the battery on mine as when started on a cold morning it would cut the steering out and light up the steering fault light, had to reset it with vcds
-
Yeh think its only enforced during peak times, if im near asda in the next few days off ill try and check
-
I stay in livingston and left my car overnight in asda(ended up in the pub lol) recived a fine and then a few begging letter for a few months, there is no law in Scotland that can take you to court, after a few letters they stopped and never heard nothing back from them, that was 3 years ago now.

12345Jay replied to Scottsherlock1's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Oops meant the passenger side(gearbox side) lol yeh had to press the brand new bush back out wish they did not supply the new console with the bush pre fitted. -
Bore wash is only related for petrols as the petrol "washes" the oil from the bore diesel is an oil so no problems apart from rear end gets filthy and folk think your car is knackered with the smoke lol

Fabia vRS 1.9 TDi - IAT Sensor & Traction Problem
12345Jay replied to CyronDnB's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I had this after i fitted a fmic and never extended the wiring, it broke the wire for iat causing it to pull boost and go into limp, as above check wiring at map sensor can get to it by pulling drivers side fog cover off but best to remove bumper
