  1. I agree that there is practically no concrete information yet on the update - and no im not expecting some massive change to the structure of the car or the makeup of the range. I also agree that the picture is god-awful, but I would expect to get slightly more that an altered light cluster in a mid life update. Updated technology systems, revised standard equipment, new alloys - its all possible and right now, because information is so scant, it's arguably at its most exciting. I though it would be interesting to hear what other would like to see in the update. Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk
  2. I personally always think its worth upgrading the sound system on a car - default systems always feel a bit 'tesco value' Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk
  3. Can we get a thread stickied to house the all the chat/speculation/wishes/rumours/confirmations etc for the mid-life update on the Octy Mk3? Confirmations - Details are scant at the moment but will no doubt become much more plentiful as we head into 2016 and get into the next round of motorshows. However it has been announced that the aesthetics of the Mk3.5 will be altered in the update. The front of the car especially and most notably on the headlights: http://indianautosblog.com/2015/09/2017-skoda-octavia-facelift-render-split-headlamps-195208 Speculations - I doubt we will se much in the way of engine change - other than Euro 5 specced power plants being updated to Euro 6. - Also unlikely to see a hybrid unit introduced - this will wait until the Octy 4 - I do wonder if we will see smart link become standard with Amundson/Columbus sat nav being optional extras (I believe Amundson is currently included as standard on certain models) - The VRS 230 will probably be made official if it doesn't happen earlier Wishes - Like a lot of VRS fans, I dream of the Cupra-matching VRS 280 - In line with the above wish I want to see adaptive dampers to allow switching between 'Comfort, Normal, Sport and (hopefully) VRS' modes - I want to see a spare wheel fitted as standard to all Octavia's instead of a stupid areosol kit. But doubt Skoda will give up that little cash cow - Interior mood lighting would be pretty cool. - I would like to see the introduction of cooled, as well as heated, leather seats + steering wheel Rumours Haven't really got anything to offer here yet. So what do you guys think? What do you want to see added to the range? What styling tweaks would you make to what is already a very handsome car? Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk
  4. Very very nice man. Bit jealous over here!
  5. Just my 2 cents - I would rather have tyres with rim protectors built in so you don't need to have rim protectors spoiling the look of your alloys.
  6. Hi guys, sorry for being late to the party but my partner has a fabia picked up early April 2015. She has never been able to get mirror link to work. I have tried to read through this thread but I'm getting confused. I know that her car is affected with this. But can someone summarize the solution for what we need to do to address this, our if indeed we are too late and have missed the boat? Thanks
  7. Oh, it's gone from the online configurator... Maybe its only available on request?
  8. How does your wife like that idea lol. Mine hates me test driving cars that I can afford to buy :P
  9. Haha that is very understandable but the skoda dealer doesn't need to know that
  10. I agree the engine is not a risk in the vrs but from the dealers point of view, you as a member of the public have just been bombarded with this by the media and you don't know the full story but know enough to be having second thoughts. Plus its less about the individual engine and more about talking the moral high ground and the principal of blatantly cheating. If it saves you and extra grand our two, it's worth lying to a car salesman :P
  11. I don't think Colour will be as important on a vrs as a standard octy. Vrs have a reputation for being a bit bonkers and brash so potential buyer is more likely to want something that stands out from the crowd
  12. Don't ask for another discount. But walk up to him and say that you're not comfortable with the dishonesty VW have shown with the engine, this is leading you to have serious concerns over other possible irregularities (quote fuel consumption, digital readouts etc) and as a result you are having to reconsider the purchase and look at alternatives. (have a few lined up) then watch at how far he is willing to go to keep you out of the Ford and Vauxhall dealerships down the road.
  13. Let us know how the cupra ST goes if you do finally plump for it. Would like to know from a real user just how much difference the adaptive chassis makes flicking between hard and soft suspension. I expect most cupra owners in the UK will have it set to comfort and everything else set to cupra mode lol #crappyukroads....
