  1. Thanks mmobile, I had thought of that - it's an official Apple cable. An update to the situation: The only solution seems to be to plug it in and wait. Sometimes it works straight away and sometimes it will refuse to connect 2 or 3 times but eventually it starts working. The annoying thing is not being able to set navigation once you get in but the workaround is to set up the navigation on the phone before plugging it in, then when it finally decides to work it will already be set. Hopefully we'll get some sort of update which will fix this issue!
  2. Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences! I am still trying to work it all out. Forgetting the car and then repairing doesn't seem to work. I get the message "MIB STD2: The connected device is not supported" on the phone and on the car it says "Connection failed. Please check whether your mobile device is compatible for use with "Smartlink". I am starting the car and waiting for it to prompt me before I connect the phone. It seems that If I leave it plugged in and try to connect multiple times and keep going in and out of the maps app on my phone that it then eventually connects and works perfectly. I will have to try what mmobile says above and just plug it in a leave it to see if it sorts itself out. All a bit frustrating as I would rather get in the car and drive away rather than having to spend time faffing with CarPlay to get it working. Do you think that this is something that Apple will fix in an update or is the problem with Skoda's software? I imagine that getting an update the the Car's software is no where near as simple as an update from apple! Thanks everyone! JP
  3. Hi guys, after upgrading to iOS11 I am having trouble connecting to my Fabia MKIII. Anyone else having issues? I wonder if resetting all settings on the car and then starting from scratch is the way to go? Cheers, JP
  4. Yes, I tried those big bags of Silica Gel and they cleared it up a bit, as well as running the air con lots but still ended up having problems!
  5. Are they not legal in the UK or is it not allowed to change the bulbs on a car when it's still under PCP?
  6. A friend has a Fabia and when riding with him it seemed much better than with my Citigo. Agreed the full beams are fine but the Citigo dipped beams were not so good. I will see about upgrading to xenons if I need to.
  7. Hi Guys, Just ordered a Rallye Green Fabia 1.0 TSI to replace my nearly 3 year old Citigo. My main complaints with the Citigo were that it wasn't great for dark motorway driving and that it tended to fog up/freeze inside in the winter. Stereo was a bit weedy too. Other than that it was a great little car. The dealer came up with a way to get me out of my PCP which still had 6 months to run. Excited! JP
  8. Picked up my Citigo today, yay! The DAB radio is integrated totally into the system so there's no little box popping out. Cheers, JP
  9. Yeah, mine's going to be red too!
  10. I ordered mine 5 weeks ago, should be getting it this week. In the meantime I've seen 3 in the wild, all red. I must have seen about 6 or 7 Up!s though.
  11. Apparently VW make a boot liner to for the up which is part 1S0 061 160 A This seems to be for the 'variable' boot floor in the Up!. Has anyone tried this in the Citigo with the Up! raised boot floor? Or has anyone found a boot liner to fit once this modification is made to the Citigo? Cheers, JP
  12. My Skoda garage just quoted me £112.54 for all of the parts. Seems fair to me!
  13. No one seems to have mentioned the PID much for the past few years. Is it worth it as an extra purchase for the Citigo? I already have a sat nag that I am happy with. JP
  14. Interesting! Sounds like there are a few variations of the fixing screws floating around!
  15. Thanks for that I've got a T40 bit in one of my sets. I'll just buy the parts and fit them myself then
  16. From what I can see on the internet, a Spline number 8 is for fitting bolts, while Torq bits are for screws. Is this going to be a screwdriver job or do I need to go and get a socket wrench? Not got the parts yet, just want to be prepared and hopefully save on labour from the garage! JP
  17. I looked in my toolbox and I've got a T40 bit and that looks pretty substantial. That must be it, 140 would be crazy, I would have thought.
  18. I've ordered it on my SE and should have it next week. JP
  19. Hi Everyone, I've got my new Citigo arriving next week and want to have a go at this Mod. I've just asked the Skoda garage for a quote on the parts. I am a bit wary of paying them to do it, though, as it looks like an easy job if you have the right screwdriver. Koolibah mentioned a star drive T140 bit I can't seem to find anything about this. A friend of mine thinks that must be a Torx screwdriver bit. His are labelled T10 to T55. If anyone who's done this mod could let me know exactly what the tool was (maybe a link to where I can order one in the UK) that would be great. Thanks! JP
