  1. Hi All, After with what is happening I do plan to go away and thought it would be good to get a caravan to have a bit more freedom of when I can go away with work but will my car cope? This afternoon I have been searching to see what other people think on towing a caravan with a 1.2ltr engine on here. I had seen that Bas1234 posted about possibly towing a caravan with his 1.2ltr yeti about 3 years ago. But I have a lower spec engine... (His engine I believe was the 110PS - 81KW). My Skoda Fabia (2017) has the family code of CJZC and is specced as follows: 90 PS (66 kW; 89 hp)@4400–5400 - ((160 N⋅m (118 lb⋅ft)@1400–3500)) - 5-speed manual, FWD - 182 km/h (113mph). Just to be clear I haven't got the towbar yet and if I do get one I will make sure its properly fitted as llanigraham said in that post that has disappeared and I can't find. I have been looking on what is on the market to get an idea of what is around for price etc... I had seen a Lunar Ariva GTS (950Kg) and I had seen Eribas as well but are a bit out of my budget. But after finding out I have a lower powered engine I have been thinking of a Freedom leisure caravan or even a folding caravan. But I don't see the point in a Folding caravan because its only a quarter of a caravan with a tent on the top! But they are extremely lightweight 😐 The final question really is will my car tow legally a 2 berth caravan that is roughly 800 to 900kgs or any of the other caravans/trailers I have mentioned? Many thanks for the feedback, Andy The other page I have been reading on here (excluding Llanigraham's message that I can't find):
  2. Is this still going ahead, because I really want it to, it would be ace
  3. I have decided as well I am up for this, with my brother!
  4. goRt, Get a Sanef toll token from here: https://www.saneftolling.co.uk/ They cost but it means everytime you go through a toll booth you can drive through them without getting out of your car. Also they only charge you the tolls you go through not the token it's self (but don't question me on that because I am not too sure). BossFox, I have a few questions: - Would we eat altogether on the trip or would we go to separate cafes and bars to have our own meals? - Does it matter what engine size we would take on the trip? I was going to take my 1.2 HTP 2006 Fabia, However my brother has his 1.9TD Fabia from around 2009. What would you recommend? - I guess tools are essential! - How do we get accross the channel, Would we be all together on the same shuttle? I have done it with my family several times and we have sometimes been separated on the shuttle (trian). - Do we pay our ways (bit of a stupid question, I guess, yes!) Kangaroo
  5. Sounds a great idea! We should do that! Then the one that has opened its bonnet the least amount of times gets to go around the ring.
  6. This sounds great idea, My brother and I are debating about it atm. But is highly likely that we will come.
  7. Hi Everyone, I have a problem with my rear wiper. I can squirt my screen wash for the rear wiper and it leaks from around the bulk head. I was wondering whether anyone knows the number for the pipe? Thanks, Kangaroo
  8. Very good idea, However it is illegal :( - I have not looked that up I just know. Hoping to take the trees down soon. I have cleaned under the carpets and it was the first thing I did when I got the car and found that there was a lot of dirt under the rear seats. I cleared all the dirt and unsed dog poo bags out and cleaned it until it looked sparkling with the silver paint showing. I did not take the front carpets out because underneath them they were fine. Also I have a fully functional FlipKey sorted for the car now (Got it a few weeks ago). Thanks for the Good Luck!
  9. Time to update this! It's been a while! So I have been using my car for driving lessons well with my brother and family. Also I have t-cutted some of the really bad scratches out in places and polished. However because I park it under a tree it gets a lot of bird s*** on it and leaves and blossom so I need to do more to it. But I will finish it off after my exams have finished. Also need to get behind the door cards and give them a clean. Got a complete air fresh thing that makes the whole car smell better. Also I have replaced the Pollen Filter and Air Filter which made dramactic improvements. So thats all for now! More updates will come in the near future.....................
  10. When is the Citygo going to be finished? Can't wait to see it!
  11. Okay, Sorry peeps, I followed the topic at the top right however Briskoda hasn't told me that you lot had responded! :( I meant inside the plastic covering where the window goes down into the door Sorry guys, Thank you for all the responses And yes the plastic clips will be a pain in the backside! - Got driving lesson now, can't stick around!
  12. Yeah I have this warranty thing as well, But touch wood I haven't had any problem with the paint yet! Mines 9 years old as well! Mind you the last owner of my car took it to the beach and took the dogs for a walk so you could imagine what the inside was like when I got it (!!WREAKED!! :() But did give it a good clean and has come up really well now! Also the last owner seemed to hit light objects and has got a lot of scratches all over it! :( Will have to get the t-cut out on Sunday! OR should I take it to a garage and beg to respray it for me I think they would tell me to get off! Will have to do it myself! Oh well
  13. Have seen other gamers play it. Looks amazing. However is expensive :( and would like to pay a bit more attention to my car
  14. Had mine done at a dealer for £60 to £75 - definitely one of those. Was expensive, But if you are like and are starting to learn to drive it is essential! :p
  15. Update! Collected car from garage on Wednesday last week, Is running amazingly well! :sun: - Touch wood!! Also I have cleaned the car inside and now smells way better. I saturated the seats with water and soap to get them clean and made sure they were completely dry before installing them back into the car. I have also cleaned the dashboard, roof lining and lots more. - Also used AutoGlym - Great stuff. Also if trying to get rid of a smell use some vinegar and place it in a boil on the dashboard, does make a massive difference. Also hand crafted some carpet to go in the boot in the mean time, When I sell on the car I will change the carpet to original Skoda boot carpet. If anyone has a boot shelf, I need one because the last owner of this car lost it because they only used the car for dog walks I think, Just trying to get it back to it's former glory! However this Sunday I would like to take the plastic off the doors and clean behind them. Kangaroo P.S. Pictures of the interior will be coming soon...........

  17. Hi all, Some of you may know I bought my first car a few weeks back and it had been in the garage for a week until I collected last Wednesday from the garage. It has been fixed and I had a new injector fitted to the car. Also I have cleaned the car inside and now smells way better. I saturated the seats with water and soap to get them clean and made sure they were completely dry before installing them back into the car. I have also cleaned the dashboard, roof lining and lots more. However this Sunday I would like to take the plastic off the doors and clean behind them. Has anyone done this before? My brother has and has a good idea of doing it. Also do you think it's going to be dirty behind the doors and is it a good idea of doing it? Any help would be appreciated, Kangaroo
  18. Great project, Can't wait to hear more about it.
  19. A lot, Remember Wheeler Dealers doing one up! They are very rare now and can go for £20,000 or more and can be less!
  20. My first car which I have now, A Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP 2006 12V 64Bhp! I love it! Quicker than a Citygo, I think, However maybe not? I paid £850.00 for my car, However did have a lot of work done to it and overall costed £1,100 to get it running normally. Kangaroo
