  1. Sorry for the slow reply. My Scout has MFSW from factory, so it's a pre-FL steering wheel fitted.
  2. Whilst I can't comment on the retro-fitting, my pre-FL Scout has Maxidot and MFSW and I've looked at retro-fitting an MFSW to t'other halves facelift Mark2. If you're handy with VCDS or know someone who is, fitting the clocks isn't a bad job, it's just coding them. You'll also need a slightly different stalk that allows you to access the menus within the Maxidot, as the standard stalks just have a rocker switch at the end, where as the ones for Maxidot have a rocker, but also a button on the underside that's your 'Enter/OK' button. To fit the MFSW you may need to change the airbag slip ring and you'll need to check if you have a highline steering wheel control unit to support the additional buttons that an MFSW brings. Again. Coding will be necessary once everything is installed. Regarding operation of the radio, I can't comment, as I'm running the standard Stream MP3 in my Scout, but again I can't see why it wouldn't work if you've fitted the correct slip ring, controller and done the appropriate box ticking in VCDS.
  3. I appreciate this was from a while ago... Is anyone able to advise how to rig the indirect system up? I'd be looking to install it on a FL and pre-FL. If anyone's near Leicestershire and happy to guide me through it/assist, even better!
  4. Did you get this solved? Sorry, I've been offline for a bit myself!
  5. As mentioned, there's nothing currently on the market for Mark2, only Mark3. It might be something the likes of Modified Headlights would entertain making for you, or if you're handy enough with a soldering iron, you can give it a go yourself.
  6. If youre happy to provide me with your 'reg, I can look up what should be fitted to your car and narrow down your search. I had similar when ordering front discs and pads for my Scout, but I only had choice of 280mm or 288.
  7. I would presume it has to find a baseline for its settings. Going off direct TPMS systems they need time to calibrate by driving the car for so long.
  8. That's the exact kit I was after! By the sounds it wouldnt be too bad to do! The de-pinning the ABS multiplug will likely be the hardest part (by all accounts). Are there any known ABS pump part numbers that are compatible or ones that aren't. I can do a quick scan with Carista to get my part number, to see if it's worth proceeding further. I'm being presumptious that my Scout will be compatible. I thought because it has 'Hill Hold' it should be able cope with indirect TPMS.
  9. Apologies! I was looking to install the basic OE system that uses the ABS to detect a difference in the rotational size of the wheels. The switch and wiring loom can be had for a shade under £25. From what I understand its 4 wires. One is earth, one is for illumination, and for power and one goes off to the ABS pump. I'm happy putting pre-crimped wires in multiplugs, as is the case with the ABS pump wire, but splicing into the wiring for the ESP switch is where I think I'll come a cropper (my soldering was never the best!). The car I'd be fitting it to is a 2007 Scout. I do have Maxidot, but I wasn't aware of it being sophisticated enough on the pre-FL cars to show tyre pressure values from the direct monitoring system. Ive looked at the aftermarket systems, such as Tyrepal, and while perfectly suitable, I don't want to clutter up my dashboard too much, as I've already got a dashcam installed and a phone mount for using Android Auto via the Aux input in the jumbo box. That's just me being fussy I guess.
  10. Hi guys, Ive had a good search about regarding this topic and found plenty of information. That being said, I don't trust my wiring skills enough to carry out the work myself. Can anyone recommend a company in the East Midlands that would entertain such a thing, without a puzzled face, whilst stating: "It can't be done!"? Alternatively is there anyone who's done this themselves who would be willing to fit it to another car? I'll pay for your time of course! Thanks in advance.
  11. Right, trundlenut very kindly sorted some coding out, so now I have Leaving Home lights that work off the rain and light sensor, rather than working all the time. However, the LH lights work regardless of whether the light switch is in off, Auto or on now, but only when the light sensor deems it dark enough. Does anyone with auto lights, rain and light sensor and CH/LH lights on a pre-FL Octavia have some programming they'd be willing to share, that I can try and replicate so my leaving home lights will work off the headlight switch and rain and light sensor?
  12. BCM is Body Control Module. Its usually under the dashboard on the driver's side. There'll be a 'fabric' type panel above the pedals. With that removed you should be able to see the BCM easier.
  13. Holy thread resurrection Batman! Can anyone confirm the coding for CH/LH lights on pre-FL? I have a factory rain and light sensor and auto lights. The CH function seems to be working fine, as per maxidot settings. The LH function however, when turned on just has the lights coming on no matter what time of day it is, light or dark. It's as if the system isn't using the rain and light sensor to determine whether the lights should be on.
  14. This sounds like my issue... With a code scan with Carista I'm getting the same fault code relating to 'Ambience Lighting'. It seems Carista has played about behind the scenes with the RLS logic. Unfortunately, as Carista is rudimentary, it doesn't give any options to use RLS when determining LH logic. Looks like it'll be VCDS to the rescue to amend the coding that Carista has deleted!
  15. The wife's running Avon ZV5 all round on her Elegance estate. Road noise isn't too bad for a 17' tyre and wet grip is decent. The limit of grip is also very predictable.
  16. You're thinking of OBD11. I don't know what part of the coding Carista has affected, but I've lost the functionality of the rain and light sensor when determining whether leaving home lights should activated. For now I've changed: Coming Home Lights ENABLED Leaving Home Lights ENABLED CH/LH Lights VIA PERSONALIZATION This at least means the feature shows in the Maxidot menu. I've turned LH lights off to try and preserve the xenons a bit.
  17. I can't help you too much, but it sounds like you have the same headunit/changer combination as me, in which case it's a 'Stream'. I also wondered about the vacant slots in the boot area, but with the Aux input, 6 CDs in the boot and an additional CD in the headunit, I figured I've got enough music!
  18. Hi everyone. I have tried a search on this, but not encountered anyone with the same issue. I'm guessing I know what the answer is, but I'll come to that in a bit... Car is a Mark2 pre-FL Scout. Ive got Carista and I've changed a few things. Some were successful, some didn't quite work as anticipated. One thing I've done, and I can't recall how is altered the coming home and leaving home lights. The lights used to come on with the switch in the Auto position and stayed on a pre-determined time via Maxidot. Now they don't come on at all. The only way I can get them to come on is by selecting "Via personalisation" in Carista, and even then, they ignore the rain and light sensor and come on all the time. If I don't select "Via personalisation" the option for coming home/leaving home lights also disappears from the Maxidot menu. I'm limited on what I can do in Carista. I can enable CH/LH lights and set Automatic/Via Personalisation, and that's it. Currently I have both CH/LH lights enabled and set to Automatic and now I have no CH/LH lights in Maxidot or functioning. Am I going to need someone with VCDS to look at the coding? As there must be another option that needs applying in conjunction with what I have so they will work off the rain and light sensor and not just based on time. Any help greatly appreciated.
  19. Hello again, not that I really went away. I've been lurking more than anything! Having joined to get ideas and help after the purchase of my wife's O2 FL Elegance estate, I found myself increasingly impressed with the reliability, performance and quality of the car. I thought it was about time I righted a wrong and got a Skoda too. We still have my wife's car 3 years later and my Xsara Picasso is sat waiting to be sold now I have a pre FL O2 Scout. Future plans include a bit of tidying up (usual Proteus wheel corrosion amongst other things) and maybe a few styling tweets. It's good to be back!
  20. Having liked the wife's Mark2 FL Elegance so much, I decided it was time I got in on the Skoda act. KarlTDiCombi / Satin Grey Met / 2.0 Tdi PD / MY07
  21. Unfortunately we're away. I'll try and make one at some point. The cars sporting a few changes since it was last there, many moons ago!
  22. Not so much today, but last night. Fitted some new textile floor mats as the ones that came with the car were wearing thin on the drivers footwell. Also managed to replace a missing rear parking sensor gasket, without having to drop the parking sensors and loom from the bumper or the bumper from the car. Relief!

  24. Big thank you to trundlenut. A true gent who's methodical approach saw things solved. The sense of community here is something I've never experienced before on a forum. Thank you all for your input.
