  1. Hi guys just a quick question. I have an estate car and Ive seen some nice vrs door cards from a hatchback. Will these fit ok?
  2. Hi guys, when I bought my car it cam with two keys. Neither if which is a remote key. My drivers door is one key and the ignition the other. From time to time when locking and unlocking the car only the drivers door works. How hard is it to replace two mismatched keys with one remote key? The car is a 2000 x plate did they all come with remote locking?
  3. Hi guys I have an Octavia SLX 1.8 20v and I was wondering if the larger VRS front brakes fit if I get the calipers and the carriers? Are they a straight swap over? Cheers
  4. Hi guys Had the car into a specialist today as I noticed after I bought it there was no EML at all. It was plugged in and the MAF is faulty. Well buggered to be precise. It was jerry rigged together as someone has cut the plug off and its dead. I have bought a new one but myself and the the garage can't work out the wiring. The diagram they have for my engine and year of car doesn't match my car. Right I have a 5 pin MAF and 5 Wires going to it. Its an 2000 x reg 1.8 20v AGN Engine. The colour of wires to the MAF sensor are Yellow & Blue Red & Purple Brown & Blue Solid Blue Brown & Blue The solid blue and last brown and blue were sort of twisted together but seperate terminals. Does anyone have an idea of what wire goes where. Sorry to be a pain in the ass Cheers Andy
  5. Fronts are 32-E14-F and rears 27-C08-F the rears aren't turbo ones as I cant see a listing for them but the they are for sports suspension which I assume the VRS comes with or if the cars lowered etc . Thats just the shocks though
  6. 110k to me thats not a lot but it is a 1.8 20v
  7. Hi guys. My octavia had quite a rubbish gear change. When I got it in order to get into 1st I had to put it into 2nd then slide it into 1st. I fiddled with the linkage at the weekend and I now have first but when its in I have a lot of Lateral movement. Is this common on them and is there a way to fix it? Cheers
  8. Sachs and Boge are the same company. They trade under ZF Trading. There quality is OE and make very good shocks. They do a "turbo" version for the Octavia which are a bit uprated. I've had Boge on previous cars and the quality has been excellent. I work in a Factors and it's boge we now stock after stocking KYB for years. Nothing wrong with KYB we just felt the quality was the same as Boge but the price was a lot better.
  9. Hi guys, new to the Octavia. Its a 2000 1.8 20v. Just a quick question though: When you start your Octavia is the CEL meant to illuminate then go out or does it only come on when you have an issue? Mines doesn't come on at all but I don't know if it's meant to or if someones removed the bulb. I plugged in my cheap VCD-S Lite cable but I cant get it to communicate with the module to see if there are any codes etc. I can communicate with the airbag module etc but not the engine. Cheers Guys
  10. Hi guys. Names Andy and Im from central scotland. Just got my first Skoda. Went for an Octavia MK1 Estate 1.8 20v. Fist time in ages I have had a VAG car. Last one was a Leon Cupra TDi. I've been a Toyota man for years now but an impending baby and this coming up at the a good price leads me here. The cars been slightly modified with nice wheels, lowered a bit and a nice stainless exhaust. It's white and the paint is a bit flat but I do enjoy getting the G3 out so that will be a doddle to fix. As usual I have a few questions that I will fire up in the correct section but heres to some reliable fun motoring :-)
