  1. Hi there everyone - thanks for the suggestions. I've been lucky, and it turns out that I didn't need a third party repairer - I did go to Robinsons as they had just replaced the water pump - unfortunately they couldn't look at the car as I was in my company car - they gave me some cooland and told me to come back after the weekend if it went down again, but it didn't, and after 5 monhts the coolant level hasn't budged, so not sure what happened with that! I am making notes of these garages though - I've still got the car and its now approaching 95k miles, so it'll be due some work at some point!
  2. Hi there I'm thinking I may need to get some work done soon. My coolant appears to be leaking even though I had a new water pump at the main dealer in Norwich (Robinsons, now Group 1) 2 years ago. I'm going to shout at them to see if I can get a replacement free, but if they don't I'd rather not pay main dealer prices if I can get away with it. I'm also thinking I may need my clutch doing soon. So basically, are there any independent Skoda / VW group experts around Norfolk that anyone could recommend for this sort of work? I normally get my car MOT'd etc at a local garage, but I know they're reluctant to embark on bigger jobs (although I'd happily use them for water pump replacement if necessary). Many, many thank yous!
  3. not sure whether my wife and bank balance would agree with that...
  4. Thanks for that - that's what I feared, although it's something that I always suspected would need looking at at some point before long.
  5. Hi there. I've got a 2016 Octavia vRS (pfl) 225 manual estate. It's been an absolute dream since I've had it. Only issue so far has been the water pump, which I got my local Skoda dealer to change for free Anyway, I have started noticing something that may be an issue. I'm guessing it's clutch, but it's slightly odd and not what I'd expect to be the obvious issue with clutch issues. I've noticed it a couple of times now, but the first time I was in 6th gear at about 45mph then started accelarating gently up to 75mph. I hadn't changed gear at all, but I noticed that as I accelarated, around 2-2500 RPM the revs flaired briefly as if I had just dipped the clutch. It was only a small flair, and it didn't feel like I suddenly stopped accelarating completely or anything like that. I've been trying to replicate it again since so have been accelerating from low revs in gear (say about 1500rpm) and it does happen occasionally in 5th and less often in 4th. Normally, with a clutch, I would expect it to slip when changing gear, or being difficult to get in gear, but there aren't any issues in that respect - it's just been whilst in gear and accelarating gently from low revs. Cheers for any help
  6. Hi, I'm Gavin and I'm from Norfolk. I have a 2016 Octavia vRS estate (manual 225). I possibly have something that may be an issue, so I shall be posting in the relevant area! Greetings to all!
