I've had this problem too, turned out to be the Pollen Filter needed changing. Also check the filter surrounding is sealing, a friends Leon was a nightmare for condensation, his pollen filter surround was split and wasn't sealing. Check under your carpets for signs of water leak.

VRS 2.0TFSI Oil consumption?
willingtonsteve replied to Twidle1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
TFSI, uses NO oil in between 6000 mile services, done 65000 miles. Often gets ragged. -
Hi All, this is a known fault with water entering the fusebox and causing a short. All VW range is affected. Make sure your fusebox lid is fitted correctly. This happened to me and the local independent VW dealer said he has several in a week with this problem. my fusebox lid was not on properly. They took the fusebox apart and showed me the water in the bottom.Hope this helps.

I have much the same problem on my 2006 petrol VRS. Nobody seems to know much about the compressor unit apart from replace it ! Like you I figure it's a sticking valve problem. Mine has now virtually stopped working altogther although I did hit with a mallet ( if it don't work hit it with a big hammer) the other day and it worked for 50 miles. -
2006 Petrol VRS Climatronic Problem
willingtonsteve replied to willingtonsteve's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks Guys, Doesn't need a regas plenty of pressure in the system and no leaks. It certainly looks like it might be the compressor. Yeah I've done the reset but no better. However since this started I have been having a Battery drain overnight, left the meter across the Battery last night and it dropped from 12.70 volts to 11.65 volts. Leak test on battery says it's good, checked out the infamous under bonnet fuse box and there is evidence of water present, I wonder if this is coincedence with Climatronic problem or seperate, anyhow anyone taken the under bonnet fuse box to pieces ? If so how does it come apart,? I believe it is in in 2 parts. Thanks again. -
When I turn on Air Conditioning only luke warm air comes out of the vents (ECON off and heat set on low.) When I put ECON on, air coming out of the vents is cooler but not cold.Plenty of gas in the system, no errors on the diagnostics, have done reset on the Climatronic, compressor is running and spins up with engine revs. Engine Fans come on as normal. Anyone any idea's or is it the dreaded Compressor knackered.Car has done 60K. Is there any fuses/ relays to check ?

Niggly faults - do you have them?
willingtonsteve replied to Gaddy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Got a 56 Reg Petrol VRS 52K 1) Yes mine is from drivers window/ frame especially over 90 mph (on private road /track of course) 2) No problems. 3) MFD display sometimes won't change from stalk. 4) No problems with my Stream CD/ multiCD or MP3. Aerial amplifier is dodgy needs replacing. 5) 32 - 38 mpg consistently. 6) No problems. 7) No Problems. 8) No problems. 9) No problems. I've just changed all coil pack after two gave up and not under recall ! Otherwise no problems but then I do all my own servicing every 6K miles. -
My Mk2 VRS premium is £255 with Churchill but my postcode is very low risk and I am in my mid fifties with full 8 years no claims. I think you should try the comparison sites.

I agree yellow is best. -
I've just had a Stage 1 remap. 230 BHP & 280 Torque as per rolling road, only £225 from SP tuning. Next is panel filter and cruise control retro fit.

willingtonsteve replied to AcW's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Washer pipe has probably come off under cover in the hatch.Just pull the cover off and refit. -
Had my TDI 130 remapped up to 180 bhp. Will now go off the speedo in 6th gear !! No loss in fuel consumption either.
